http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/new-first-team-manager-appointed-606668.aspx

1) Back to back promotions to take a club on the verge of relegation to League 2 to 15th in the premiership.

2) 3rd in the premiership form table.

3) 18 points from last 12 games.

4) Came from behind away from home to get a point against the champions league holders.

Worst sacking of the season. They barely picked up a point for ages and they kept him. Yet now he's got his team used to the demands of top flight football they decide to sack him.

No idea why they'd sack him. As adders said, back to back promotions and a great comeback against Chelsea and on a decent run of form themselves.

He'll probably be the next Villa manager

He sticks around in the pocket too long when the defense blitz. His throwing mechanics are horrible and it takes him too to release the ball. But his wide receivers aren't helping either.

Oh... you mean sacked in the sense of being fired.  I took it in the NFL sense.

Another clueless chairman by the sounds of it - not sure what all these newly promoted clubs expect - they arent going to win the league - the first thing they should aim for is stability and sacking your manager after losing only 2 of 12 games is a disgrace

Agree with #H it's another case of a trigger happy chairman thinking a 'bigger' name from abroad would do a better job 'long term'.

very stupid sacking, even if he hadn't turned the team around, it's daft for teams to think that coming up to the Premiership should automatically mean that a manager should be judged on his last few games, not what he has done over his entire time with the club.

Come to expect it nowdays, happened to Hughton and Di Matteo (twice) recently.

Sad, but it's football in 2013.

Trigger happy chairmans this days... I can't understand it. Can't they learn something from Manchester United and Alex Ferguson? Ferguson is in the club already 26 years! God! And long term planning brought Manchester United to a heights it never seen before. I think this is what football clubs lack this days, a chairman with a 'long term planning' kind of mind...
