Great to see him in MITB and here's hoping he gets pushed once more like he did for a while last year.

Admiting to getting some fines for pot smoking in interviews was where his push seemed to stop.

Now he's cleaned up his act he's bound to look more dedicated to management.

MVP = Midcarder 4-life... Enough said.

MVP cant work as a babyface, he's only mediocure as a heel, he's nothing special, yes he can talk on the mic but his charisma is like a Shelton Benjamin, ok he isn't that bad, but still... Nah MVP screams midcarder, just his look, the way he sells himself and so on, just screams midcarder.

For a long time I was of the opinion that MVP's gimmick just didnt work as a babyface but he has started to grow on me lately, his fan reaction seems to have improved as well as you regularly hear MVP chants during his matches and he always gets a decent pop.

Much like alot of babyfaces in WWE his character isnt as edgy as when he was a heel but that just seems to be common place now with WWE geared towards a younger audience.

Good to see him in Money in the Bank and I'd even say hes a outside bet to win it, Im not sure he'll ever make it to headlining status but can see him as a longterm high mid-card act.

Yeah was watching that match he had with Kofi Kingston last year, I think MVP has improved a little bit better but yeah I think he will mainly be stuck in the top midcard area for years to come. I think if WWE can push MVP a little more, maybe he might actually be looked at (by the fans) as more than just midcard material.

I've thought that MVP was a lot like Mr. Perfect was in the WWF hey-day.  Here's a guy with loads of skill in the ring... a guy that would be in the main championship title scene of a smaller promotion... but in the WWF/E maxs out at IC champion or tag champion.  In the WWE, MVP will never be the biggest guy, the loudest guy, the most hated or most loved.  The scale in WWE is too large and over-the-top.

That doesn't mean the guy can't have a decent career as a top-level midcarder.  Lets remember, not everyone can be a winner in a match... somebody has to do the job.  MVP is looked at as someone that is professional enough to do a good job when asked.  If he's supposed to put someone over, he does it in a professional way.  He doesn't get sloppy in the ring or lazy like others have been know to... he remains professional.

Granted, MVP would fair better on SmackDown where he was always a top-level midcarder.  MVP's inclusion into the MITB match I think reflects that WWE has taken notice to his solid crowd reaction.  While, I don't expect him to win MITB... I think he will look good and make those around him look as good.

I also think that MVP could make a great tag team if paired with Sheldon Benjamin instead of Mark Henry.

Excellent comments on MVP, thudarr2000. I think the best comment you can make about any wrestler is that when they perform they are not wasting the time/money you spend watching them (ahem, Divas), and MVP (although the eternal mid-carder) never makes me feel that - as you said, always the professional, and great in-ring skills.
Thankfully, fans seem sophisticated enough these days to understand the important role that good 'mid-carders' play in helping to push or put-over the 'star' talent - the 'stars' only look good because the mid-carders are professional enough to lose convincingly to them week in and week out - for YEARS lol. I think this shows in the warm responses the MVPs, Golddusts, and Findlays receive from audiences. If those guys gave unproffessional performances, the stars would look like crap.
Yeah, really happy to see MVP in MITB. He seemed to be getting some push up until RR vs Miz, then it faded. At least MITB keeps him on the radar - although I think MITB is being used as a vehicle for Christian this year to get him back into the thick of RAW/SD after ECW folded (boo!).
A pairing with Benjamin would be pretty cool - I can't see him doing anything with Henry. Looking back at old, old youtube vids of MVP and Matt Hardy competing in out-of-ring games, i thought they had a good chemistry and would team well. It'd be better for Matt being stuck MVP than with Khali lol
BTW New to TUP, and thought it cool that MVP had his own thread :D Love the dude.

Great to see Matt Hardy and MVP team up tonight on SD (Mar 19) vs Swaggert and Ziggler for a MITB promo. These guys a really friends and work well together as a team - hopefully Matt bumps Khali, and MVP bumps Henry, and they get together with as a serious tag team.

I was happy to see him back. He was always underated in his prime and his well known heart condition probably played a part with management not pushing him enough.

I don't get why in the two videos above them have him happy and smiling and mentioning his son all babyface things to do and yet on Raw he played the role of the heel.

Dirt sheets said he was sticking around for this week but commentary was talking like it's more long term.

Not seen Raw yet but glad to hear one of my old favourites is back for what I hope is a proper run and not a couple of cameos, the rumour is that he's only agreed to a couple of appearances which would be a shame. Despite showing huge potential and having most of traits to be a star in WWE he never really rose above mid-card status during his first run which was too short.

Its too late for MVP to be a top guy in WWE now but I think he can still be a excellent part of the show perhaps as a mouthpiece for somebody and being a occasional wrestler, he looked in decent shape so perhaps he's willing to have one last run as a active wrestler in WWE?

In a update on this as I've now watched Raw it seems pretty certain this was a one shot deal.
MVP was in the area due to his appearance at The Royal Rumble and his son was in attendance who's favourite wrestler is Rey Mysterio, so it was a nice touch for WWE to let MVP go out and have one more match against his son's favourite while his boy watched from the live crowd.

MVP has gone on to say this was his last WWE match and that his in ring retirement is very close. Nice way for him to bow out if this is true.

On a side note I like the idea of WWE bringing back past talent with a bit of name value for a one or two shot deal to put over a existing talent on tv, I would like to see more of this happen.
