Quote All recently released WWE wrestlers have been told that they are not allowed to do media interviews until their non-compete clauses expire. Former Deep South Wrestling head trainer Bill DeMott was not under a "talent" contract, so he was free to talk when interviewed recently.

Have they been allowed to in the past ? They must have been to make this a significant news story. I guess it is a new clause WWE have decided to start to add in the no compete deals. I don't blame them really, and it works out better for the superstars. Someone could be released and angrily burn bridges with a interview. But after three months that said person could have calmed down. That is something WWE didn't have to worry about with Demott (who put himself over well when spoke to). If anyone is missing out, then it is the radio stations that get the scoop story.

He was lost with the new style and was subsequently sent to ECW. Also, Gerald Brisco, who loves amateur wrestlers, wanted to make him into a Kurt Angle-style wrestler. He too gave up on him in the end and that led to Terkay being dropped. Terkay's pro wrestling career seems to be over because he is now looking to sign a multi-fight contract with one of the MMA organizations.

I did not know this. I would have liked to have seen Terkay work with Undertaker. It would have been the kind of big man match that I like to begin with; but I think that the MMA style Terkay had that WWE was so worried about would have matched perfectly with Taker's striking style, plus Undertaker has good MMA like submission moves like the Dragon Sleeper and Hell's Gate. It's a shame this match did not happen.

Over the four years ECW was run by the WWE, I can think of two releases that were really shocking to me. The first is Elijah Burke. This dude was on a roll, and was having great matches with CM Punk and a few others. Then he was dropped for no reason. I thought it was a stupid move by WWE then and of course even more so now given his success in TNA.

The second one would be Stevie Richards. I know that eventually all of the "ECW originals" would gradually disappear; but as soon as it looked like Stevie was getting a push and being used in prominent matches (for ECW) he was dropped. Plus he had actually been in the WWF/E since 1999, so he wasn't just with the company for ECW.

What did you like about the Basham Brothers to make you disapointed with their releases?

Wouldn't a proper shocking release be one of the ECW originals if anyone?

Actually, now that I think about it the fact that Tommy Dreamer asked for his release in late 2009 was the most shocking to me of all. Needless to say he was an ECW original, had shown the most loyalty out of any of them, even had a recent ECW World Title run earlier that year in 2009, had been with the WWF/E since 2001, and even worked as a part time booker for them. "The Heart & Soul Of ECW" was not just a catchy nickname. He was ECW. Slowly I saw ECW changing even though I liked some of the newer wrestlers who were coming in. but when Tommy asked for his ECW/WWE release, I knew ECW was dead.

I think that the Bashman Brothers were really entertaining, and I've always like brothers in wrestling so to find out that they were released I was pretty disappointed.
