Never seen him until his NXT debut. I was not digging him at all, and then he kicked off the sandals, and totally transformed from a clueless looking surfer bum to a legit cage fighter. It's alarming seeing a guy whose ass you think any guy off the street could kick, turn into a total monster in the span of 30 seconds. That transformation alone makes me want to see a whole lot more of him in WWE.

Liked what I saw, he looked pretty bad ass with a hard hitting striking and submission style.

He has a decent look and size too, only thing I didn’t really like was him wrestling barefoot, never been a fan of that it just doesn’t look right and it increases the risk of injury.

I saw him wrestle live back in January and he's really good very hard hitting however I'm not a big fan of the bro thing yes I K now that is just Riddle being himself but I'm not a fan for Indies it's probably fine but for NXT or the main roster can't say I like it.

If they play up the surfer bum thing, and then have the guy continue to hulk out as soon as he enters the ring, I think it could really work. Sort of a cross between Rob Van Dam and Kurt Angle.

He did some interview which you can see on Youtube where he sort of shoots on Lesnar and claims he will retire him ....

Looking at him its hard to actually see that happening but something in me wonders when guys come out with this stuff, abit like when Pete Dunne did similar a while back, that WWE have said these are the current long term plans for you as long as you develop in the way you currently are?

Whilst WWE as a whole may not be (or at least they are pretending not to) worried by AEW or even acknowledging it in any form, Matt Riddle posted something online today - it was a photo of him looking shocked with the caption:

"The face you make when you know the greatest era of wrestling is about to begin because of great competition ... thank you"

Maybe the talent want to work more like the NXT/AEW style as opposed to what WWE are currently offering and maybe they have had communication internally about it and how they will respond?

I think that's a very safe assumption if not an already confirmed fact. Whether it's The Revival and Sasha Banks or whoever else, WWE knows exactly who AEW is, and are talking internally about their response.

Right now though I think it's more of an anxious anticipation of what COULD come next, rather than a matter of 'here is what we will do'. I'm sure right now they're gagged from talking about it to press. But if AEW goes as well as everyone seems to think they will, then that could change very quickly, and a new ratings war era could begin.

I think its clear that most talent in WWE had a much better time in NXT due to the far less restricted style, it allows for much better matches and a grittier style. However of course the goal is always to get to the main roster for the big bucks

But AEW will hopefully provide a more NXT style on a mainstream platform which hopefully in time will force WWE to do the same.
