Source - Wrestling Observer Newsletter

-- WWE SmackDown superstar Matt Hardy was hospitalized again on December 8th with an abscess stemming from an infection from his appendectomy. He was put back on heavy antibiotics and later released on December 12th. As of right now he doesn’t expect this latest episode to delay his return.
well thats bitter sweet, its good that it wont delay his return because matt has worked his whole life to try and get to the top and he was getting pushed there, cause as soon as he has a good run with the u.s title, i have no doubt that he will be where jeff is, if not higher.
Qouth the draven, nevermore.

Quote Wade Keller of the Professional Wrestling Torch is reporting that Matt Hardy had elbow surgery while he was out recovering from a burst appendix in November. This is one of the reasons why Hardy was out of action for so long, however, he is now said to be 100%.

Well obviously he's 100% or he wouldn't have been part of the house show this past weekend. Clever bit of thinking to have surgery done, whilst out anyway with something else. It's better than watching the elbow getting worse and then needing surgery on it anyway, not long after returning. It would explain as to why he looked like he was coming back and then was written out again with attacks like the one Randy Orton did on him. Hopefully his body will stay fully heeled for a long time.

I thought for sure that had been a set-up as the 'blood' stain didn't look fresh or even real when I watched it.  I don't know, it seemed a bit silly but I guess if that's the case then he's right to take time off.  It's bad news for him as he seemed to be getting back into shape and working a bit harder.

Quote Matt Hardy recently noted that his lower back and pelvis have started to fuse together due to the style of his wrestling he has adopted over the years.  He also posted the following on Twitter, which some took as a retirement/thank you note, however, he is not retiring and is going to be undergoing a new rehab program that he hopes will help.   Hardy is in moderate pain and probably tweeted this to show that he won't be wrestling forever:

“To all that supported me in the independents & OMEGA.. To the fans of Team Xtreme.. To the Mattitude Followers.. To the OUTSPOKEN fans who brought me back in 2005.. To the people who backed me when I was REINCARNATED in pro wrestling.. To the #WOKEN Warriors.. THANK YOU.”

He's in the twilight of an high flying career and not getting any younger, so it's not a surprise.

He should change his in ring style to look after his body more and fit in with his persona better.

It doesn't make sense for him to risk injuries by wrestling like he's still young and in Team Xtreme, whilst playing a totally different character.
