All I'm saying is I hope he's not in a relationship with any divas, we all know what happened last time he was out of action for a lengthy period of time....

- The following quotes and updates from Matt Hardy come from an interview WWE.com did with him shortly after his surgery:

“I am feeling ok, I have definitely been better,” said the recovering Hardy. “The surgery lasted between 60-90 minutes, and the prognosis was that I was lucky they got in there when they did.” Matt continued, “The appendix had already ruptured, and the toxins from that rupture were poisoning my body. I am used to the aches from my career, but this was the most miserable pain I had ever experienced. I had cold chills with hot sweats, and just couldn’t find a comfortable way to lie down or sit. I felt like I was dying it was so bad.”

The problem became serious when Hardy made his way to Tampa last night. “I made my way to the arena last night, and still was in such considerable pain that I went straight to the trainer’s room, and they sent me to the hospital for a CT scan.” The scan revealed the enflamed appendix, but the burst was not seen until the appendectomy was underway. Now Matt Hardy must face a road of recovery that will see him out of action much longer than he had envisioned as he chases the United States Championship held by MVP. “I will be here in the hospital until the antibiotics clean the rest of the toxins from my body, and then from there it will be anywhere from 8-10 weeks before I get back into action,” Hardy explained.

best of luck to matt on his road to recovery, hes had some very bad luck in his career with injuries & his personal life cross over so he needs recover properly & get back at it

Hopefully this will give WWE a chance to repackage Matt and (I can't believe I'm going to say this) give him a worthy push on his return. Give him a better gimmick or go full force with his "I will not die" one. He had some great ideas for his return after his knee surgery which weren't used so... now would be a good time. He's far too bland otherwise. Move-set wise, he's a solid wrestler... he just needs more of a gimmick to work his personality around. Hope he heals well from the surgery.

After the vicious attack at the hands of United States Champion MVP last week on Smackdown and missing Survivor Series this past Sunday, things took a turn for the worse for Matt Hardy’s well-being when he arrived in Tampa, Fla., Tuesday night.

WWE.com spoke to Matt Hardy moments ago and the Smackdown Superstar was in good spirits and thankful that WWE trainers and Tampa General Hospital doctors were able to identify and correct the appendicitis that could have greatly threatened his health.

"I am feeling ok, I have definitely been better," said the recovering Hardy. "The surgery lasted between 60-90 minutes, and the prognosis was that I was lucky they got in there when they did." Matt continued, "The appendix had already ruptured, and the toxins from that rupture were poisoning my body. I am used to the aches from my career, but this was the most miserable pain I had ever experienced. I had cold chills with hot sweats, and just couldn’t find a comfortable way to lie down or sit. I felt like I was dying it was so bad."

The problem became serious when Hardy made his way to Tampa last night. "I made my way to the arena last night, and still was in such considerable pain that I went straight to the trainer’s room, and they sent me to the hospital for a CT scan."

The scan revealed the enflamed appendix, but the burst was not seen until the appendectomy was underway. Now Matt Hardy must face a road of recovery that will see him out of action much longer than he had envisioned as he chases the United States Championship held by MVP.

"I will be here in the hospital until the antibiotics clean the rest of the toxins from my body, and then from there it will be anywhere from 8-10 weeks before I get back into action," Hardy explained.

When asked about his former partner and the possibility that MVP’s attack led to the bursting of his appendix and subsequent surgery, Hardy paused for a moment and then responded with a firm, "No comment."

well 8-10 isnt that bad compared to how much time other superstars have/are taking off to recover, but i hope he gets well and comes back 100% so that he can continue his push and become a mayjor player on smackdown.
Qouth the draven, nevermore.

Quote source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Matt Hardy posted the following blog on his MySpace page regarding his recent health issues:

I AM STILL ALIVE

As most of you know, I experienced a ruptured appendix which released toxins that internally poisoned me on Tuesday. After being in excruciating pain for nearly 24 hours, I went under the knife late Tuesday night and had my appendix removed. For the last four days, I've been virtually bed-ridden in Tampa General Hospital. For those four days, I've been having my body intravenously pumped and flushed with powerful antibiotics to kill the infections within my abdomen caused by the toxins. It wasn't exactly the way I planned on spending Thanksgiving of 07--away from home, away from my family, and in torturous pain. But it was a good Thanksgiving nonetheless-because I'm very thankful I'm still alive. I've got alot left to do in this life, and I wanna thank God for continuing to give me that opportunity. I'll speak on all this in greater length later, but I need my sleep now... Thank you guys-for all your support and get well soon wishes, they mean alot...

Matt

Naughty Matt being able to go on the internet whilst in the hospital. It's good that he's getting better, even though missing thanksgiving will have hurt him. He's bound to have lost a lot of weight as well, but once christmas comes around and he's feeling better, putting it back on won't be so much of a problem. I don't want to ever have to imagine the amount of pain Matt was in until the operation. Makes a change a wrestler out with a none wrestling injury. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I know how he feels, I had the same thing three years ago. Fortunately the GP caught it before the appendix could rupture though.

I hope he gets the big return treatment. I think that will really tell where he stands in the company. If he gets a good return he could move up to the Main Event. If he doesn't he'll probably stay in the upper mid card. Here's hoping.

I'm hoping he gets a good push too. Great to hear from him, though he needs his rest and to get his strength back. I hope he gets to leave the hospital soon. I feel so bad for him that he missed Thanksgiving at home, but like him I'm grateful that he is still with us.

First and foremost, I hope Matt gets fit & healthy soon. Also hope he gets a good push when he comes back, though I don't see him being put up towards the main event. He really needs a good reign with the US title first, seeing as he's never held a mid card championship as a singles competitor. If they give him a good run with that, which he deserved long before he went out injured, then, eventually he can be pushed further to the top tier.

Quote WWE.com has a new article up with Matt Hardy where the SmackDown superstar says he is now resting at home and is ready to return to action. "I was being pumped full of antibiotics for four days straight last week to combat all the toxins that had seeped into my body and poisoned my insides," said Matt. "The thing that is more aggravating than anything else is the soreness. Not just because of the incision, but because after they removed the appendix, and because it had burst, they took saline and sprayed down the intestines, the kidneys and the abdominal cavity and then brushed those organs clean." Matt continued, "And those organs aren’t supposed to be moved around like that, so it’s just incredible discomfort. But I am up and walking around a little. So one week later, I am glad I am feeling this good compared to where I was last Tuesday

You would think in this day and age of modern medicine, that doctors would have seen his appendix in a bad way, way in advance and removed it before it burst on Matt. My mother nearly passed away once when a perfurated ulcer burst that was undetected and so it can happen. It's going to be annoying for him hardly being able to move. He could have been out with say a broken arm and still walk around. This sort of injury though has him in pain when he does something too active.
