Mark Henry's last babyface turn was nearly a career-killer, he went from being a monster heel to a low-card comedy face who would team with Hornswoggle whilst wearing a silly hat. Thankfully Henry was able to revive his career by reverting back to the heel role which he is far more effective in.

Unless this is being done to set up a nice retirement scenario for Henry then I really hope he stays heel, the argument that WWE needs a monster face because Ryback is a heel isn't really valid anyway because I expect Ryback to be face again before the end of the year.

Quote It appears as if Mark Henry will be announcing his retirement tomorrow night on RAW. He noted on his Twitter that he will have a big announcement tomorrow night on RAW, and then posted these tweets:

"Whether you loved or hated me in my career.I was all ways there for you.i appreciate u all. Good or bad I will live forever with u the fans.

"I found a place.

"#raw #wwe I have spoke to my family and hope to talk to all of you fans tomorrow live from Grand Rapids. Guys Father Time is undefeated."
Could Mark Henry really come out on Raw and announce his retirement?

In 1996, Mark Henry made his debut in WWF. In 1999,Henry won his first championship: the European Championship. He held the title for a month. It would be 9 years before his next title: the ECW Championship. In 2008, Henry reigned for over 2 months but he was the first to hold the redesigned title belt. His 3rd and final championship was in 2011 as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. His 3rd title reign lasted all of 3 months. That's 17 years but only 6 months spent holding a title.

He turned 42 earlier in the week and his time with WWE has been dotted with numerous injuries. But even when he's been hurt, he continually worked publicity for WWE. He did charity events, he did media appearances, he did whatever was asked of him. He also did it while generally lost in the midcard of the roster.

The last 2-and-a-half years of Henry's career may have been his finest. He went from happy-to-be-here midcard babyface to the Hall of Pain monster. He went from being a guy that couldn't buy a tag team title reign to being the World Heavyweight Champion. And it was a seemless and organic transformation.

If he comes out on Raw and announces his retirement, I'll be disappointed that he didn't that 1 last run he deserved. But I'll still argue that he deserves a WWE Hall of Fame induction for all the work he's done for WWE outside of the ring.

wouldn't be surprised if, if he is announcing his retirement, he would be another name for next years' Hall of Fame, though personally, I think they can hold off for a few years, at least until Mania is next in Texas.

I would suspect he would still be put on a Legends contract anyway, and maybe get some backstage role.

If you're interested, you can click here to view his shocking new look. Wow!

Copy and paste this to see the pics, the links don't work when posted from my iPad:

He looks pretty bad-ass shaved bald, could do with trimming down the beard though.

I was quite liking him as a babyface as it seemed his character was not dissimilar from how he was as a heel which is how it should be, but with Big Show and Big E Langston currently faces it may be a case of too many larger faces so it might make sense for Henry to come back as a heel.
Either is fine with me, I enjoyed his heel hall of pain gimmick.

Mark Henry's high forehead has successfully defeated his braids. It's cool though. His look was getting a bit dated.

Still, I'm going to hope that he get put into a tag team to help easy the workload. I'd hate to see him get hurt right after he starts getting some momentum (again.)

He reminds me of Mr T of the A-Team, but with the beard could WWE be going the route of "The Jerk", only in reverse, by having him join the Wyatt's - a black man who thinks he's white??

Please remember that this the TV-PG WWE of the 2010's. If this was 15 years ago, then WWF might have tried that. Because WWF at that time loved generating controversy.
