Oh I wasn't criticizing you at all for voicing your stance on it and why you like the live chat thread, of course you should. I was just saying that based upon what I've seen since I've been here the chances of a resolution between all parties occurring is small.

Lol that much doesn't have to be said. We never reach consensus. Don't worry though, I didn't take it as you criticizing me. I was just making it clear from where I was coming. I'm just hoping we don't have any more cases where someone has too many feathers ruffled and leaves the forum in a huff. If you know what I mean...

Regarding reviews - if they are generic they can go in the PPV thread but if they are detailed perhaps the live chat thread.

Now the PPV is fone there is no more spam posts so reviews will be easy to read without trawling. This then keeps the other thread spoiler free.

As I said the other day - by the time the reviews are over written / pushed back by more live chat - the people who want tonwil have read them already and no one goes back after a month or so to read previous Ppv reviews

Here's my take...

Live discussion threads are brilliant. It gives the people who are able to watch live an instant reaction post, and it allows people to interact with eachother as things are happening, plus it gives forum traffic. You see posts during live shows you may be more likely to join the forum and join in. That Rumble live discussion thread has 300+ posts, you can't argue against that.

The main Rumble thread can be used to talk about the Rumble after it has happened. You have the preview and reviews in that main threads, then use the live discussion threads for when it's all going down. Many people have more to say on an event after watching it and processing what has happened.

I believe we need to have the mix of both. Realities of it is...there's two live shows per week, then at most 2 PPVs per month, so not that much live discussion is going to go down in the grand scheme of things.

Adders from an advertising point of view...you can promote live discussions...you can promote how much activity these sessions bring...it just works.

Great points Baz - plus I guess it depends on work etc - I mean I’m at work tomorrow so can’t take part in the Raw live discussions tonight and I may not watch every PPV live - most members will be like that

But

When I do decide to stay up and watch it - like last night - the discussions thread was excellent. I like your idea of having the pre Ppv info / discussion and post Ppv reviews in the one place

That way the two can still be referenced easily without having to wade through (based on last night) 30 pages of info which is now irrelevant to those who weren’t on / chatting

Do the right thing and make the live discussion thread a stiicky - you know it makes sense and the people have spoken 😀

The live discussion thread has been very well received which is great.

My opinion is that the spam posts that take place during a live chat just litter a dedicated thread topic and speaking from experience the posts prior to that get forgotten as understandably people can't be bothered to backtrack through all the pages of spam, so as a result any prior discussion tends to die a death.

I do agree however that reviews are better served in the show specific thread so my suggestion would be that by way of a compromise all live chat goes in a stickied general live discussion thread and reviews in the specific topic. In fairness reviews will not happen until the show has aired and that allows folk who can't watch immediately to still view the thread spoiler free up until the end of the show in question. That's fine with me as if you haven't seen a PPV that has aired its simple logic that you avoid select threads because even with rules in place chances are spoilers will still happen by accident or by posters not fully aware of the rules.

I rarely if ever watch PPV's live these days so very unlikely I'll be part of the live discussion thread but I think it's a good move for the forum and I'm glad to see its popularity already.

Stubborn Adders (the un stubborn guy who in the past has done many things to make this place better for people such as letting people start Ticket Wars with full control, Prediction games with full control, adding new sections (Japan/British wrestling) etc) has stickied the topic.

It brought in one new TUPeep who will hopefully stick around and get involved in other threads and so it's worth seeing if we can pick up other people as PPVs happen, such as if people are around during Elimination Chamber.

Might help if Web Wiz had the option to make a topic free of post counts, but I don't think they do.

I agree with the post count thing. Heel and I both got around a 100 extra posts from that one thread last night.

Btw, yay! Heel and I both broke 10k last night! Haha

Thank you Adders

Yes it’s a shame about the post counts but then again like I said - it won’t be very PPV that I stay up to watch so it’s not as if I’m going to totally blast through 1000 posts a year on shitty one or two word posts

You should be able to turn off post/point count in certain sections Adders...without access I couldn't tell you where to look though haha. You could raise a ticket with the support team and they'll tell you if they can do it.
