Based on ages it would mean a teenager Kurt Angle got someone up the duff to become a dad at 20, which is about the only realistic part of all this that happened to a dead uninterested crowd.

So in 1988 when he was getting a woman pregnant as a 19 year old he was winning a competition.....

Nobody ever gets elevated working alongside Kurt and I don't see this being any different.

The worst thing about this is they've split AA to do it. JJ is a left field choice for this storyline, however if they can elevate him to be a solid midcard hand by the end of it, I won't have many complaints.

I'm prepared to give it a chance. American Alpha seemed to have become a bit lost on the main roster so if this angle hands a decent push to a up and coming talent I can't see how it's a bad thing.

The comparisons between Jordan and Angle are obvious and there's enough of a age gap to make it believable. I think they'd work better as heels though and have Jordan develop a kind of geeky athlete persona like Kurt had back in his prime.

I can't help but to wonder if this might have been the original plan for Sheldon Benjamin.

Jason Jordan spent something like 5 years in developmental before American Alpha.  That was 5 years of trying different gimmicks & partners. It was his in-ring chemistry with Gable that finally gave him a spark and set his career in motion.

As for Gable... I think he would do well as a singles, especially if he started working as a Cruiserweight. Perhaps they could re-visit that stipulation they had on that lame Kalisto vs. Brian Kendrick match at Survivor Series and bring the Cruiserweight division to SmackDown.

It's definitely make or break time for Jordan now. Gable at least has something about him that should allow him to be ok on his own, but time will tell for both.

Watched Raw now, I thought they played their parts well, Angle showed what looked like genuine emotion as did Jordan to a lesser extent.

I hope this is a career defining moment for Jordan, as I've said I think this set up would work better with him as a heel showing shades of a young Angle type character. Not sure the smiley jock athlete babyface character will get over big.

The fans were booing Jordan so vocally during his Miz TV segment last week that the reaction had to be acknowledged. This storyline has not been well received so far and even this week the jobber who faced JJ got a better response from the crowd.

I've seen reports that WWE are already considering pulling the plug on this storyline. That would be a shame as it's still early days but some changes do need to be made. My suggestion would be to embrace the hate and have Jordan turn heel and make him in to a arrogant jock similar to Kurt' s heel character from back in the day, Jordan could constantly brag about how he's the son of Angle.

If all else fails maybe just put American Alpha back together and quietly play down the whole Kurt's son storyline.

Quote Jason Jordan is expected to turn heel imminently, very likely at Survivor Series according to Wrestling Observer Radio. The speculation is still that Jordan will show up and cost Raw the match, either specifically targeting Triple H or even his "father" Kurt Angle.

The idea of an heel is someone behaving in a way you can't explain and yet when Jordan "turns heel" if you look into it deep enough you can see why he would.

1) Kurt wasn't there for him growing up.

2) Kurt put his son in the ring with the crazy Bray Wyatt character.

3) Kurt took his son out of the biggest match of his career.

4) Kurt didn't think his son was capable of backing him up with a poorly ankle, even though he himself won a gold medal with a broken neck.

5) Kurt watched his son get beat up in front of him and did absolutely nothing.

So all things considered can you blame Jason Jordan for turning heel? It's not your normal heel turn when you can see the reasoning why the person would turn and can see their point for doing so.

I’ve been saying it for weeks that he needs to turn heel - I’ve just posted in another thread that I had hoped the pedigree on raw would be the start of it.

I’m not sure how they can work this into an angle (no pun intended) involving HHH and Kurt unless the plan is for Stephanie to fire Kurt for losing and HHH stopping her from doing so in order to allow the match to happen somewhere down the line

He has to turn heel and I think Jordan will be a success when he flips sides. In the ring he’s excellent but his geeky instantly unlikeable persona is not endearing him to the fans at all, he’s like a young Kurt in that he has all the traits to be a babyface but so much so that it’s overkill and makes him off putting, a heel turn is the way forward.
