Quote Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn: The winner of this one will apparently get a spot on the RAW roster. They go back and forth in the opening moments and Kevin takes control with an elbow to the face and a kick. Sami ends up dumping Kevin out to ringside and then hits a suicide dive. Kurt Angle is shown backstage watching. Sami slingshots Kevin in to the ring post, then rolls him back in the ring. Back in the ring, Sami puts the boots to Owens, then Sami looks for a spingboard off the ropes, but Owens crotches him on the top rope. Owens takes control of the match now and tries to keep Sami grounded. They fight up to the turnbuckle and Sai turns it around and drops Owens. Sami hits the Blue Thunder Bomb for a two count. Owens starts firing up with some shots in the corner, but Sami answers with a big boot, and both men are down. They fight up to the corner again, and Owens hits a brainbuster off the middle rope. Both men are too slow to get to their feet, and the ref counts to 10.

Winner: Double count out

- Jojo announces that neither men won, so neither men will get the spot on RAW.

With how it ended I am expecting it to drag out another week or two where they keep getting put in situations to earn a roster place and failing.

Then Kurt will lose his rag and say they have had numerous chances and they have one last chance at Backlash.

I suspect there they will win a tag team match so they both get a Raw contract.

Owens will win the spot. Sami Zayn will stay fired. El Generico will debut.

Would quite like to see that - its the opposite to what they did in ROH from what i seen - whereby they had Generico win and Owens fired only to come back ultra popular and win the title

I think either your point will happen or they will do typical WWE style and offer them both a spot on the roster

Quote The Miz and The Miztourage are in the rin for Miz TV. The Miz introduces his mystery guests -- the newest members of the RAW roster -- Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Kevin and Sami come to the ring and they have a group hug with Miz, Axel and Dallas. The Miz starts talking about how this group is better than the NWO, and then Kurt Angle comes out to interrupt. Angle says he didn't approve this, but then Sami interrupts and reads a letter from Stephanie McMahon. The letter from Stephanie apparently says that she is giving Kevin and Sami RAW contracts, and she disagrees with Kurt's decision last week. Kurt says he's surprised Stephanie had time to write a letter in between doing physiotherapy for her arm after Ronda Rousey ripped it out at WrestleMania. Kurt says welcome to Kevin and Sami, and also says goodbye to the Miz. Kurt explains that the reason he came out here was to announce that Miz has been traded to SmackDown. The Miz tells the fans to shut it, then tells Kurt that he can't do that. Kurt says he can, and he did. Miz says Kurt just made SmackDown into the A-show by sending Miz there. The Miz says he and the Miztourage will make SmackDown must-see television, and Kurt points out that Axel and Dallas aren't going to SmackDown with him. Kurt says he's giving him a gift, a ten-man tag. Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Braun Strowman, and a debuting WWE star, against the team of The Miz, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Axel and Dallas. Kurt heads backstage as The Miztourage talks strategy with Miz in the ring.

So they made their one on one match the week before worthless by giving them contracts anyway.

Steph gave them contracts, but if they are so good why didn't she offer these contracts before their match, so it didn't have to take place?

I hope they aren't now going to do the exact same storyline they did with Shane, with Kurt.

This change needed to happen, after the long running storyline with Bryan/Shane ended it made sense for their run on Smackdown to end. I guess the pointless match last week was a way of dragging it out until this week and give them a bit of heel heat coming in to Raw.

There are plenty of decent feuds waiting for them on Raw with guys like Rollins, Balor, Ambrose, Reigns etc.

Quote Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn come out to the ring next and get on the mic. They have pictures set up in the ring of them on SmackDown beating up Shane McMahon, and there's a table with chairs. They tell us this is the hottest new interview show in WWE, "The Sami and Kevin Show." They bring out Kurt Angle, and they give him a small child's lawn chair to sit on. Sami and Kevin tell Kurt that they want to have a good relationship with him, but Kevin adds that his bosses in Connecticut have Kurt's manhood in a jar. They talk about the toxic environment at SmackDown caused by Shane McMahon. They talk about how Kurt better be nice to Stephanie because he needs this job. Kevin and Owens make some jokes about Kurt forgetting about Jason Jordan, then they ask Kurt how he's going to use Kevin and Sami to the best of their ability. Kurt says he appreciates how nicely Sami and Kevin have treated him, so he's going to repay them. Kurt says in the Greatest Royal Rumble match on Friday - Kurt will be in it, Daniel Bryan will be in, and Chris Jericho will be in it, along with every other star who Kevin and Sami have crossed over the years. Kurt says that's Friday, but tonight, Sami and Kevin will have a tag match against Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman. Kurt heads to the back, and Sami and Kevin don't look happy about their match tonight.

Two guys i'm a big fan of and I still hope we don't see them with their own interview segment anytime soon, as this was shoddy.

How many kids Kurt has was brought up, but because it was already brought up during his Wrestlemania storyline, I felt it was too early to be recycling an old point that's already been made.

It looks like management are going to lazy book them by rehashing their Smackdown storyline Sleepy

I don’t mind them feuding with Kurt as I would be quite happy seeing Angle lock up with either of Owens or Zayn, should be great matches even with Angle not being quite the performer he once was these days.

My guess is Kurt will end up with a partner to keep his ring work limited to protect him. WWE seem reluctant to put Kurt in any singles matches.

I guess I may be one of the few that really don’t get Kevin Owens. As far as mic skills , yes , he can run his mouth but his wrestling ability is that of someone who can’t move unless it’s only to run and barrel roll or flip himself into someone in “the tree of woe.” He does a pop up power bomb pretty good but just watch him from last nights raw , he stayed outside most of the match and would punch or kick a little that’s it. I think he doesn’t have much wrestling skill but his mic skills keep him a job. Maybe the most over rated superstar on the roster today.

I don't really see the draw of Owens either, I just see that fans do really like him. That said, he is growing on me and I did enjoy his feeding for Strowman during the tag match. That was actually quite fun. I'm starting to realize that Owens is actually kind of a comedic character, BUT he plays the straight guy in the comedic situations he gets into. It's almost as if he's Lance Storm, but realizes it so he makes the other guy he's working with look funny, while he just absorbs the punishment and is the butt of the joke, or is the asshole that ruins things, etc.

TBH though I see him as the flip side, where his mic skills are uninteresting and he's actually quite good in the ring. He says a few shocking things ala CM Punk, but for the most part he quite bores me. However keeping in mind that he might just be playing the straight guy I might find myself enjoying his act more and more as time goes on. I mean I wouldn't quite put him at the level of say Bam Bam Bigelow or Big Van Vader as far as a working big man is concerned, but I think he's quite good.

But yes, this week he really didn't do much. I think that may have been the point though, and more of an anomaly than anything.
