The most recent pix I've seen of him, he was looking a bit pudgy. Granted he was never a guy known for his physique. But he never had rolls hanging over his trunk before.

Stuff like this tends to take on a momentum all its own. By this point it has probably gone past just that one issue. Now management has gone from thinking he's out-of-shape to thinking he's got an attitude problem or is lazy.

On the other hand he might be mad. There's been talk for a long time about him moving to the main roster. He could be getting frustrated that after getting glowing reviews for a period, nothing was followed up on. He might be feeling lied to and mislead. So now he does have a bit of an attitude.

Either way, I blame Bill DeMott.

Improve in all areas? If that means anything related to in ring ability, that is laughable. Dude is legit the most well rounded wrestler in the game today. Could wrestle any style.

I will never understand this "look" stuff and I guess I never will. I don't watch wrestling to looks at male bodies. If Kassus Ohno is one of the most entertaining wrestlers, then I want to see him wrestle regardless of whether he is over weight or not. I guess I'm a smark then.

It's a subconscious thing with marks. I will watch wrestling with them and they will dislike someone like D Bry just because he is small. They don't "believe" in his credibility. But those dudes are usually faggots.

I'll give you a different type of example:

The NBA dunk contest. Idk how big a fan of basketball you are. But the people who are chosen for this are normally under the 7' mark, normally being around the 6'5" to 6'8" range. There have been some seven footers who have entered the contest but they generally don't do as well because part of the judging process is how difficult the dunk is. For a 7 footer, it looks so easy that they can't score high enough, regardless of whether the dunk was good enough. That's just how it works. People want to watch people pull off extremely cool, difficult looking dunks, not just easily reaching up and putting it in.

Similarly, most people (I'm talking about the mainstream audience, which comprises the real majority of the audience) want to see guys who they are able to emulate and look up to rather than to the side to get behind. No matter what that quality is, it has to be more presentable than the casual fan is used to. And it isn't necessarily the "look", as in Punk's pure emotion and ability to connect with an audience, or the energy that Daniel Bryan has, but being in better shape and having a better physique makes it easier to raise yourself above that level.

I don't think Kassius Ohno has that intangible quality to connect with a crowd, in promos or in-ring. Sure he's a competent wrestler, but so are a WHOLE bunch of people in the WWE, main roster and developmental. So the only thing that is standing apart is his physique, which right now isn't a good thing.

That's the thing, to me Kassius Ohno doesn't have anything that makes him stand out, from what I've seen he's a solid worker but I don't buy into this he's the most well rounded wrestler in the world opinion because from what I've seen he's not close to that, plus he's not a great promo guy.

WWE has a ton of great workers, Orton, Bryan, Ziggler, Del Rio, Cesaro, RVD, Lesnar, Rollins, Ambrose, I could go on, but the point is great work-rate won't make you stand out in WWE, so if you can't even be bothered to graft a bit in the gym and try and give yourself a look that impresses management is it any surprise they've soured on you?

WWE want their talent to look super-human, I get that, it's because it easier to market someone to the mainstream and get kids to rally behind them if they look like a super-hero, it's not so easy when they look like they belong at a Star Wars convention or flipping burgers in a van somewhere.

I just read that HHH is bitching about Hero,s phisique, and I must say that I saw it coming from the begining.

I mean, Ohno has everything to become superstar: good in ring work, good on mic, lots of passion and is very inovative.

In his 20,s he was even training other wrestlers.

But he doesn,t have the most important thing to be on WWE TV (and I,m not aproving that) and that is - MUSCLE.

Vince would push no talent bodybuilder rather than super talented Hero-Ohno, because he is not phisical freak.

His looks and body remind me of Edge, so I kinda hoped he could go in that direction.

But no, he is going to be fired for sure, and I wish him welcome on independent scene, where his skills are appreceated.
Still real to me dammit !

Look at the difference between Brian Danielson and Daniel Bryan.

That guy 'gets it', which is why he is atop the WWE right now while Ohno is twiddling his thumbs at home/trailer park.

It means in ALL areas, which is the point I meant when I said all areas. Some people would say that he doesn't need to improve in-ring, so whatever. It's everywhere else that is the issue. I don't care how I feel about myself, if the company paying me to live my dream asks me to do something, I do it regardless of whether I feel I need to or not. Or I'll be fired, and deserve to be. Just because he is good at making a headlock look picturesque is beside the fact.

Quote As we've reported in recent weeks, NXT star Kassius Ohno has had a lot of heat on him with management. Ohno was pulled from several NXT TV tapings, reportedly because he was not taking his workouts serious enough and was not improving his physique. The latest on this situation is that Ohno has been putting over other wrestlers at recent NXT live events and has been removed from the intro of NXT's show on Hulu.

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter
I can't read into the show intro montage. WWE regularly fiddles with them for all of their shows. In this age of digital editing it's no longer an issue to alter the opening.

As far as the jobbing to guys goes... Often both dirt sheets and fans assume that the guy doing the jobs must be in hot water with management. But in the current WWE product, many guys go through periods of jobbing because management just doesn't know what to do with the talent.
