According to reports, Jeff Hardy may be Shinsuke Nakamura’s next challenger on WWE SmackDown! Live following Nakamura’s loss to AJ Styles at the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view event on Sunday night.

Dave Meltzer also said the following during his podcast on Monday: “You know what you can do? You can have him feud with Jeff Hardy for the United States Title and all will be fine.“

Within kayfabe how does someone who has lost multiple title matches in a row, including one he picked himself, keep getting title matches with someone else?

I am tipping him to win the title. He can't keep losing championship shots. He has to win one at some point.

The promos won't be capitivating, but their matches will be.

Should be an interesting clash of styles (pun intended) following his feud with AJ.

Nakamura to me needs to win the US title and then disrespect it to play up to his new heelish persona. He should continue to refuse to speak english (but more often) and winning by any means necessary.

People will lose interest if he keeps losing title matches because its not like Braun where they constantly have him looking dominant in defeat

I agree. If we don't see a title change, they would have to turn Nakamura back babyface to build him back up with regular wins once more.

Quote The broadcast team shows us some footage of Shinsuke Nakamura beating on Jeff Hardy previously on SmackDown. We then go to a pre-taped promo from Jeff Hardy, where Jeff talks about Nakamura's attack on him last week. Jeff talks about the effect this attack had on him, and he turns around to show he has eyes painted on his eyelids. He opens his eyes and has some white contact lenses in, and he looks into the camera and tells Nakamura that he sees him.

Loved Jeff with his look. Hope it's a permanent thing as a character refresh like the one his brother is on.

It plays well into the storyline too as Nakamura has his own wackey side.

What in the world was this PPV match ??? 5 seconds , gimme a break. Shinsuke wrestles AJ more times than I would like to remember and Hardy gets a low blow and then basically gets pinned ??? Gimme a break WWE

Jeff Hardy has got about 15 injuries stacked up at once. He was physically incapable of bumping.

I've had them verified by internal sources. It's one of the reasons we haven't seen much of him since his return.

So the Smackdown rematch is going to be more of the same then Ouch

Quote Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: Before the bell, Nakamura hits a low blow on Hardy. Hardy is down and the ref checks on him. Hardy gets up and says he’s ready to fight, so the ref calls for the opening bell, and Nakamura immediately charges and hits the Kinshasa on Hardy while he’s still visibly hurting from the low blow. Nakamura immediately pins for the three count.

Winner & new U.S. Champion: Shinsuke Nakamura

It was horrible. They should have cancelled the contest for another time, instead of having your babyface champion get outsmarted so fast.

This match is right up there with when Jeff faced Sting in TNA, but that probably had slightly more wrestling.
