Quote source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

-- Jeff Hardy didn't arrive to Tuesday's SmackDown/ECW taping in Las Vegas, a show he was scheduled to headline, until the card had already started.

* I've not heard anything about this since, but surely there's more we don't know about it yet.

* You've got all day to get to a show and so to not be there by the time it starts is pretty poor.

* It could be the dirt sheets looking to make him look bad again or it could be because Jeff isn't learning from the past.

* If I had his reputation i'd be doing all I could recently to make sure people can't knock me for something else.

I read about that too. I'm really hoping it was just something simple like car problems or what not. I really don't want to see Jeff going down that spiral again. He's gone to far in his career to risk in now.

Not only has he come too far, it's better said that way, he's standing on his last leg at the same time. It's either make it or never get another decent opportunity again. He's already been fired from WWE and basically dismissed from TNA due to drug and truancy problems. If he lets it happen again, JEFF HARDY'S CAREER AS HE KNOWS IT IS OVER.

Hopefully he doesn't completely crash his career. He could easily be a legend right now if he stayed dedicated.

Actually it would kinda fit the picture wouldn´t it? I mean it was around that time last year that shit started and got him his suspension then right before Wrestlemania......

I just hope... you know, what Shadow said, that his car broke down or they found some object in his bag which was not allowed on a plane and he missed the flight because of that.... like a metal plate you wear in the soles of your boots to appear taller...

Please Jeff, don´t screw things up again.....

Being moved away from his brother, so he can be his own person is a positive.

He's got to be glad he won't be getting woken as Brother Nero anytime soon.

Alongside AJ and Daniel Bryan he's comfortably inside the top three babyfaces on Smackdown.

Seems like WWE are were they want to be with Jeff now. No secret they've always thought of Jeff as the bigger singles star, so to have him on the same brand as Matt would've been a bad move.

Plus this may even boost SmackDown house show attendance with a big name like Jeff added. Will be interesting to see what kinda spot Jeff is in a year from now. Looks to be for the immediate future he'll be put in a program with Randy Orton over the U.S. title, which will hopefully mean a Orton heel turn.

Fun fact I saw someone point out, Shelton Benjamin and Jeff Hardy were fighting over the United States Title this time around 2008. Can't believe that was 10 years ago. More things change I guess...

That is an interesting fact. I do like it when feuds get renewed over the years and I like both Jeff Hardy and Shelton.

And I agree that Jeff is where they want him to be now that he's come back from his surgery. He seemed to have found his groove again; I am glad that he still looks smooth coming off the top rope. A lot of formerly aerial people alter to a more grounded style after an injury, see Marc Mero and Adrian Neville.

A mid card singles belt like the U.S. Title is a good fit for him. I just wish the title wasn't a hot potato; as I'm writing about in the Titles thread.

It is a shame that that's happened to the US title but Hardy could hold on to it for a while, I feel. Smackdown Live doesn't have a strong midcard because it's all been moved to Raw, so you don't need to worry about having that title move around a lot. With AJ as champion I'd rather see Benjamin or a heel Orton take the title, personally, and go on to a long run of close defences to get developing faces over.

But close run wins for Hardy are also a great idea. The man knows how to get a crowd hyped up during a match and, to be honest, I don't think he's got long left in his career. Having him hold it until say just after Survivor Series, turn heel in September some time and then feud with Daniel Bryan for it leading into the Rumble could be great business for all involved.

Quote Jeff Hardy vs. Daniel Bryan: The opening bell sounds and they start with a dollar and elbow tie-up. Bryan grabs Jeff's arm and wrestles him down to the mat. Jeff fights back with a shoulder block, and they circle each other again. Bryan wrestles Jeff down to the mat and puts him in a shoulder hold. Bryan follows up with a big boot for a two count. Bryan dodges a shot from Hardy and backflips off the turnbuckle. Hardy comes back with an inverted atomic drop and he sends Bryan out to ringside for a breather. Back in the ring, Bryan continues working on JEff's shoulder. They run the ropes and collide mid-ring, and both men are down. Bryan follows up with uppercuts, and Jeff fires back with right hands. Bryan hits some kicks to the chest, and then an enziguri that sends Jeff falling out to ringside. Bryan follows up with a running dropkick through the ropes on Hardy at ringside. Bryan misses a shot off the apron and Jeff drops him on the floor. Back in the ring, Bryan knocks Hardy down on the top rope and then hangs him upside down in the corner. Bryan hits some kicks, then takes Hardy up top again. Hardy knocks Bryan down and follows up with the Whisper In The Wind. Bryan comes back and drops Hardy, then hits the Yes kicks. Hardy fires up, but this leads to Bryan hitting a dragon screw takedown on Hardy. Bryan works over Jeff's leg and then puts him in a knee bar. Jeff struggles, but he taps out, and Bryan wins via submission.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

- After the match, Samoa Joe gets on the mic and calls out Bryan. Joe steps in the ring and gets in Bryan's face and reminds him that next week, Bryan has to get through Joe. Joe and Bryan will face off next week in a Money In The Bank qualifying match, which will be their first time meeting in a WWE ring. Joe leaves and Bryan leads the crowd in a "Yes" chant.

- Samoa Joe does a brief interview in the back where he says next week, Daniel Bryan goes to sleep, yes, yes, yes.

A strong performance by Jeff, even though it could have done with a few more minutes, so it wasn't quite as fast paced as it was.

When he was put in the figure four I thought it was to have a rest before they got to the finished.

Instead surprisingly they had their face champion tap out way too quickly to save his legs.

He's injured though right so by having less minutes it helps protect Hardy

Its also gives Hardy an out for tapping
