Former WWE Superstar Jack Swagger (Jake Hager) recently appeared as a guest on Arm Drag Takedown with Pollo Del Mar for an interview. Below are some of the highlights.

On why WWE was a special place to work: "I was very lucky to go to the biggest company in the world and wrestle. You definitely see the bigger arenas, the bigger crowds, hear the bigger pops, work with he bigger names. You can't put a monetary value on that, because it's so special."

On goals he didn't reach while in WWE: "Anything I did not accomplish there, it wasn't because there was a thumb over my head, pushing me down. It's because I didn't accomplish it. That's the way I choose to go through life and look at things and move on."

On Cody Rhodes' WWE departure: "He has a very good brain for this business – he always has – and he really knew his game plan and what he wanted to do. He executed it very well."

Check out the complete Jack Swagger interview at HuffingtonPost.com.

Don't think he could talk them up more LOL Pretty sure if they wanted him back he would say yes in a split second.

He's right about his goals. Good for him not blaming anyone but himself for not getting to the level he could have.

He knows what he's on about with Cody too, who's done excellent since leaving the big league.

Jake Hagar huh? Did he refer to himself as "a man" too? Was his middle initial 'N'?

Agreed though, sounds like a man has a very good attitude towards his career, and if a man were ever asked to return, a man would.

I liked Swagger when he was that prissy white-bread kid with the World Title.  I also liked Swagger when he was in his prime heel mode with "We the People" with Zeb Colter.  But, since then, not so much.

Seems like a nice guy, but lacks some fire to keep going in this business.  Maybe he has a 2nd career in mind?

I agree

Most people who leave the WWE, portray the character the wanted to portray in the WWE and their promo styles often reflect the "let off a leash" sort of style.

Nothing from what ive seen of Swagger is showing me WWE made a mistake - hes as bland as they come and thats when hes doing his own thing in the indies too

He either needs a serious repackage job - sort of Bray Wyatt levels of repackage or he needs to stick to what hes doing now because although he hasnt burned a bridge and yes hes speaking highly of the WWE but he wont offer them anything and he wont do his self any favours - currently hed struggle to make the mid card on Smackdown and that quite frankly is some of the worst ive ever seen

I think he would probably make a good trainer, myself. He has the right attitude, the right talents, and the right amount of experience for it. He fits the mold perfectly, just like Lance Storm and Dean Malenko.

he got over with the "we the people" gimmick as both a heel and a short run as a face because he had a mouthpiece.

it's a problem now in modern wrestling that mouthpieces aren't used to hide the weakness of poor promo skills. you have Lesnar with Heyman, but let's face it, if Lesnar wasn't the name he is, he wouldn't have Heyman, let alone be on the contract he is.

we need guys like Colter, James Mitchell, Heyman and others who can get talent over in promos, but at the same time they still have to be able to deliver in the ring. Hager stopped caring long before he left WWE, and if i'm hearing right, it does seem he has lost his passion, so he needs to realise that. he can move into MMA if that's what he needs to do; no one is going to bat an eyelid if he's just in that for the money, but if he fails there, he's probably best stepping away from any and all rings as a competitior.

Quote Former WWE Superstar and Bellator MMA heavyweight prospect Jack Swagger (Jake Hager) recently spoke with Raj Giri from WrestlingInc.com for an interview. Below are some of the highlights.

On wanting to do both pro wrestling and MMA now that he is signed with Bellator: "I'm going to try and do both. My logic is one hand can help the other. As long as I have time to train, take the MMA side very seriously, I think I will be able to do it. We were in talks towards the later end, you know Dutch [Mantell] is over there and I would love to work with him again, so they kind of come and go, and I hate to say it, but they don't really like to pick up the phone and call anybody, but I would love to work for them though."

On Lucha Underground: "I really like their product. It seems different. The cinematography of it. It seems very 'Hollywood-esque.' I think it makes the characters look bigger. I think it makes the wrestling look different. I am good friends with [Writer and Producer of Lucha Underground] Chris DeJoseph so I would come there too. Even if they wanted to put me under a mask. I think it would be great. It has done great things for Brian Cage, Johnny Mundo, really good stuff and a really good platform."

On pay on the independent scene compared to WWE: "It is kind of like a supply and demand right now. You have to price yourself right in order to optimize your profit. I wouldn't say that it is more than the WWE but it is a nice living. I mean, it's only wrestling, there's no other side jobs with it. If you can go out there and develop relationships; to me, that was the hardest part because I am new to this side, so every relationship was something new, and a new business venture, so you really want to take focus on those and develop those because it can help you down the line to have steady work and great promotions."

He should quit wrestling for now. When doing real fighting it's for the best that you give it 100% of your time without distractions.

He'd be a name value by Lucha Underground standards and would make a good heel beating up the smaller guys.

If the rumoured fee he asks for to wrestle on the indie circuit is correct, he might struggle to "develop relationships" away from working for E.
