I cant say I disagree with any of the results from TakeOver but this one especially.
Io has been fantastic since she entered NXT but when she turned heel she took it right up a level and some could argue she should have been champion long before now. Like Rico I'm hoping for an Asuka Io feud but I'm also hoping shes less like Charlotte and focuses more on the brand shes representing instead of floating from show to show Keep the champion v champion stuff for PPVs like Survivor Series or The Rumble

I think they put the title on Io because they want Charlotte off NXT and back to Raw and perhaps there are plans to move Rhea Ripley to the main roster soon now Becky is out of the picture indefinitely.
All that said Io Shirai is a very deserving champion, since her heel turn she has been a standout female talent not just in NXT but in all of WWE, I hope this win doesn't mean she's turning face as I love her dark and cool heel character. Really good triple threat match last night and Io was the highlight of the match, definitely the best in ring worker in the match.

I just thought id take a moment to again say that Io Shirai is the best female wrestler on the planet .... by a long way aswell
I do though think that she may finally drop the title at TakeOver and make the move to the main roster where there are some fantastic matches in store for her.

Everytime i see her i cant help but turn into some sort of simp haha
She is so good at what she does and this week she took a bit of a beating for the majority of the show from Gonzalez but like the warrior she is, she kept coming back for more. I really cant wait to see this match at Takeover because for me, Io is the best womens champion they have had in NXT, and that is up against some big competition, most notably Asuka, but she is just so good. Whether she retains or not doesnt really matter because she is destined for big things on the main roster, so long as they book her right. The Womens division has taken a bit of a backwards step on the main roster as of late, probably not helped due to Charlotte illness etc and Becky becoming a mother but the potential for world class matches is there for all to see and once Io arrives, im hoping she will get to feud with Asuka for the Raw womens title.

I actually think Io Shirai needs to stay in NXT for as long as possible.
Look at how Asuka has been used on the main roster, ok shes the champion but shes never been presented as someone who they see as a top star and shes champion by default due to Becky leaving and there being nobody else who step up, effectively Asuka is a gatekeeper on Raw until the next Woman they actually want to get behind comes along and I think that Woman is Rhea Ripley. It's been revealed that the original plan was to have Asuka drop the title to Lacey Evans setting Evans vs Charlotte for Wrestlemania, of course Evans' pregnancy forced a change of plan but it tells you all you need to know about how management view Asuka. I expect Ripley to win the gold and move on to a feud with Charlotte. Io will face the same roadblocks as Asuka on Raw or Smackdown, her inability to cut English speaking promos will hinder her and Japanese wrestlers both male and female have a very poor track record in WWE outside of NXT.
