Well the No Surrender themed event is being promoted as the PPV coming to free tv, if this is the case are TNA extending Impact to 3 hours for the night and will it have a real PPV feel rather than just another episode of Impact with a few bonus matches thrown in, we shall see.

Just another regular episode in length. Also, a "free PPV" is nothing more than an oxymoron

These PPV themed shows play out like how WWE used to run Saturday Nights Main Event, more hyped than a standard tv show and with bigger matches but overall not quite the standard expected of a PPV.

It's not a bad thing though, TNA needed to do something to plug the gaps left by the PPV cull, and if they can boost ratings and ticket sales along the way then it's a smart business move.

As I've said before the only change I would like would be for these shows to be extended to three hours, but I guess that all depends on the arrangements TNA have for running tv tapings and so forth.

I haven't been watching TNA for a while now... I wonder how their numbers are doing.

Quote The Thursday, March 20, 2014 edition of TNA Impact Wrestling on Spike TV scored a final cable rating of 0.86, according to Nielsen Media Research. The 0.86 final draw marks a decrease from the 0.99 rating that the show drew the previous week.

Thursday’s edition of Impact Wrestling averaged 997,000 viewers for Spike TV, also down from the 1.209 million viewers who tuned in the week before.

The figure marks the lowest for TNA since their Thanksgiving show in November of 2013, and one of the lowest first-run numbers in the history of the show.
I'm sure that everyone is going to put this on the NCAA men's basketball games that were on. But it was Pawn Stars on History channel that won the night (on cable) with 2 shows getting over 4 million viewers.

800,000 viewers fro the first Wednesday broadcast.

hardly surprising, since Spike still don't advertise during other shows, and TNA seem to assume every one of their fans is part of a message board, follows them on Twitter and/or Facebook or should just know to save TNA actually having to get off their arses and plug the shit out of this.

only good thing about them being on Wednesdays, even just til then end of the year, is they won't have the NFL games to go up against.

I read somewhere that on destination America, tna only gets 350k viewers on a good day now and that can't be a good thing for the business at all. It makes for grim reading that means there. Isn't even a show trying to get anywhere at all.

Tna has really taken a downward spiral guys. I mean I haven't even attempted to watch a full show in 3 years. I did however watch the hardy compound just to see what it was all about. They don't seem like a legit company anymore. They just seem to be like a leaf in fall, just holding on for dear life. I know I'll get some heat for this but the hardy compound to me, seemed so bad. I cringed all the way through it. It seemed like a bad movie. Why do that to your fans? It was almost as bad as the house of horrors match this year. Just not bright ideas from tna or for my other reference, wwe. I just don't get how a company that used to be so amazing, so entertaining. Filled with house hold names. Great world title picture, and awesome mid card. Can now be so bland and just seems to be not creative at all. I know our mother of all companies is in the same place right now, but I'll get to them another time.

The Broken Hardy storyline was well received but also a bit divisive, and not in the way Roman Reigns or John Cena are "divisive", but that people actually really did like the storyline, but others very much did not. That storyline was so well received by fans that WWE tried to copy it.

Is Impact even called Impact anymore? Now that TNA is dead, and GFW is the company name do they still call their flagship show Impact?

People come up with the storylines and they run out of ideas, when that happens the show suffers.
