I´m already registered for a Beta Key, hopefully I get one too...

The game looks awesome, looks to add some more tactical depth to the traditional MOBA that LoL, Heroes of Newerth and DotA2 are currently playing by adding layers to the map and more strategies to win....

Also, Blizzard definately has the name advantage here, pulling their hugely popular roster of video game characters into one game.

Me wants it.

Well Blizzard never releases anything that doesn't have 100% perfect polish to it. So with games like LoL and DotA both being such great games all their own, Blizzard is undoubtedly going to do their best to take over control of their niche. Odds are, they'll do it too.

I dunno about that. Riot Games (LoL developer) obviously smelled the cake and snatched themselves up the former Lead Game Designer for Blizzard´s WoW Division who just left very recently from there. So, they will definately look up hold their throne as the most successful MOBA Game and at the moment the most played PC Game worldwide.

I quit League of Legends once and for all. I'm not an actively social person, and the last thing I want to do is get penalized for playing alone against bots. I don't care for the pvp a whole lot even when people aren't being retards or douche bags or straight up trolls, so I just played on my own against bots so I could unlock other champions and play with them. Now that I can't do that, fuck it. It's not worth playing anymore.

I can wait for Heroes of the Storm. I enjoy that type of game, but I'm not a hardcore pvper either.

I lived for PVP win WoW, but even in WoW I never did the arenas because it was so full of people taking it far too seriously. Instead I did world pvp and started wars. If I could have had South Shore as my hearth, I would have set it there.

Point being it's not about my lack of interest in the game, or even in pvp, but my lack of tolerance for team-play. I'm not really a team player, at least not in video games. I'm too unorthodox and adaptable to play by normal conventions.

Yeah, in general the MOBA community is veeeery flame-ready, unfortunately. It´s the reason I mostly play only with friends. Also, I tend to have the in game chat muted pretty much all the time. Got me a few reports for refusing to communicate, but since I don´t do that (I still ping, call lane misses, participate in fights that seem worthy of participating in) I haven´t gotten even a warning yet.

If you like playing against bots and like that type of game, you should try out Heroes of Newerth now. It´s free to play too, doesn´t take long to download and you got all 120 champions available from the start to play around at your leisure.

Also, if you want to mix the MOBA genre with a new perspective so to speak, try out SMITE. XD

As you can see, I am a huge fan of that genre... I mean, I play this stuff since the MOD for Warcraft 3 came out so yeah....

Yeah that's when I got into it too. God that Warchasers map in WC3 was the best thing ever. From that point on I was hooked. But I never got into to the point where I was willing to play it in PUGs.

To be fair, WoW pvp is very flame-ready too, but luckily I don't too often have to listen to them because I can't understand the opposing faction's language. I used to really be into FPS games too. In fact I was considering trying out the Mass Effect 3 pvp one of these days, but I need to install it on my computer again first.

Oh yeah, you got the language one in LoL too. A lot of spanish, french and several slavic languages on the EU-West servers. Funny thing, that too is reason for a report. It´s stated that you should speak English in public chat, given the fact that your teammates have to understand you.

I just bought in to the Heroes of the Storm Founders pack, giving me beta access and a few special skins, etc.

I've really been liking the game. TBH, I think League of Legends will still likely be the more popular game because of the inventory management; HotS doesn't have an inventory yet and I doubt they will.

The gameplay is very good, the interactive maps are fun, and that is something unique as far as I know, using the map to turn extra mobs or attacks on your opponent.

They just released The Lost Vikings (all 3 of them) as the newest hero today. Apparently you can switch between all 3 of them and they act as a group. Sounds interesting. Reminds me of the Ice Climbers in Super Smash Brothers. I haven't played them yet, or seen them, as I am still downloading the patch, but their inclusion was interesting enough that I thought about this thread here and thought I'd comment.

I´m probably gonna check it out once it´s open and only if its free to play and download. I think you´re right on one thing though, League of Legends will stay more popular... not only because of the inventory system but because of habit. LoL is the dominating brand in the Moba Genre, the most played computer game worldwide and gets insane amounts of viewers on their livestreams. I doubt that that´s going to change soon. Blizzard would need to shell out some MAJOR buck in production quality of tournaments etc. to make that happen. I´m talking above StarCraft 2 numbers here.
