What do people think of something like this.......

http://www.cafepress.co.uk

It's something Joe has used in the past away from the forum so he can no doubt vouch for how realiable and good it is. We used to have a clothing sponsor here that a few were interested in at one point. I remember Nyteswoggle for one buying some items so maybe there would be some life in this. The site themselves sort the goods for you, deliver them, you pay for them through them and if you return they deal with it also........

All we would have to do is start a basic online shop in the link above and come up as a group with designs and ideas worth selling on there. Over time if we get popular we could always open a premium shop that costs so much a month for extra features. We have currently nearly a thousand Facebook followers and over 1,300 Twitter followers so can get a couple of thousand people to at least know about it easily enough.

We can make profit from sales to pump into advertising here to bring in lots of newbies. Maybe use some profit for something different like having regular competitions to recieve something good. We have an Artistic Insight section and i'm sure Roary and maybe Ryan and a few others would quite like the idea of designing merchandise.

If you think people would but merchandise from a forum, the you go right ahead.

Sounds a little bit like...god what do you call those...oh yeah, a waste of time.

I'm not on about selling TUP merchandise. God that wouldn't sell at all apart from maybe the odd one off design with our URL on if someone wanted to promote us at live events. I'm on about original ideas. People are always critising the designs of say t shirts the big wrestling companies sell, so they would have the chance to try and do better. Obviously their would be limits with likeness and that for copyright reasons. It would give the would be designers on here a chance to do something different rather than making signatures all the time.

So, basically giving the TUP members a place to sell their own stuff?

Not a bad idea.

I knew an inteligent boy like yourself would get there in the end LOL You can design shitloads of different things to sell like t shirts, mugs etc so plenty of scope. Designed stuff can be put maybe in our Artistic Insight section where folks can say what they like and dislike about an item. Some items can probably be made announcement topics just so more TUPeeps see the stuff that people have taken time to design. Should we come up with a number of items that many of the TUPeeps like we could make an official TUP account on that website and see about selling the items through there, via promotion on our Facebook and Twitter pages so others know about it to see if it's something they would be interested in. I've not yet had a proper look at the site to see how much stuff gets sold for, % of sale you get, how much something costs to be made in the first place etc.

I do like how this could work. However:

You couldn't use wrestlers's likenesses due to merchandising rights by WWE and TNA that are owned, PLUS you couldn't use likenesses from pretty much any sport due to merchandising rights by their respective companies. And 99.5% of the artwork here is of banners with wrestlers and athletes Confused

But a good idea nonetheless. As has been said, no one but people here (even that is a toss up) would but TUP themed shirts, so it might be a flop. Unless we turned ourselves into a fashionable brand LOL

It wouldn't be a flop. If I designed a t-shirt or whatever, and one person bought it on a whim, that would be awesome.

Imagine a Rob Franklin Super Happy Bestfriends t-shirt.

Or I could just take your signature to this little printing shop in my hometown and make a cheap-o, fuck you version. Copyright infringement?

#Winning.
