Well I completely disagree with your assertion of Hunter Hearst Helmsley he is an amazing wrestler and is absolutely nothing like Cena; where would you get that from? He won when he should have won and lost when he should have lost. He was also injured for part of his Goldberg feud, hence his use of the sledgehammer in the Elimination Chamber at SummerSlam that year. But he lost the title to Goldberg at the next pay per view (Unforgiven) in a fairly good match; and Goldberg also looked great at that year's Survivor Series.

But I can accept an argument that it would have been better for Goldberg to have won the belt at SummerSlam; but I wouldn't by any means say "everything he touches turns to shit." In fact Helmsley is one of the best performers of the past 20 years. I would actually put him in the Hall of Fame before Goldberg.

Triple had a huge ego problem back in 2003 there was no doubt about it but there were 2 times in 2002 he should've dropped the title and didn't that was to Kane and then Booker T.

But that doesn't take away from his performances as a wrestler he is by far one of the greatest performers the WWE ever had not to mention one of the most passionate.

You'll never find another guy like the game because there is only one.

He's mellowed out his ego over the years and he has touched some great things his feuds with Undertaker, Jeff Hardy, Shawn Micheal's and more were amongst those of legends.

I don't get why Goldberg had such issues with his first WWE run, he was booked as a mega-star from the off feuding with and defeating arguably the top guy in the company even if he was in the process of transitioning to Hollywood full time. He was then consistently booked in top level feuds and defeated the lead heel for the World title, he then went onto feud with Lesnar who at that time was arguably the top heel second only to Triple H.

Goldberg rarely lost in WWE and if he did it was never clean, he was booked to look dominant against a list of top talent. I fail to really see how his booking was so vastly different to how he was used in WCW.

After watching the recent Network documentary on Goldberg covering his recent return I think its clear at that point Goldberg was very jaded with the business and completed isolated himself from the rest of the roster backstage so in effect he made himself miserable I don't think it was WWE who were at fault, but he clearly also had a ego and a chip on his shoulder so blamed his lack of fun during his one year star solely on WWE.

I'm happy to see him go into the Hall of Fame though, I'm a Goldberg fan I've always enjoyed his hard hitting and realistic looking power based style and his intense and tough character.

Quote As noted, ESPN revealed in an article on Monday morning that former WWE/WCW World Champion Bill Goldberg would be inducted into the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame class.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the current plan for Paul Heyman to induct Goldberg into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Baffling decision that doesn't make sense and looks like he's only been picked as the cheap option as someone already on the E payroll.

An ECW guy inducting a WCW guy into the E HOF. Their paths have barely crossed over the years.

Eric Bischoff or DDP would be a better choice. Someone who was significantly around during his big successful career.

Does seem a strange choice, although it’s known Goldberg and Brock Lesnar are good buddies behind the scenes so perhaps Bill is tight with Heyman as well?

Steve Austin would have seemed a obvious choice as these two were friends and shared a lot of screen time in Goldbergs first WWE run. Failing that I don’t know maybe someone from his WCW days? Goldberg is said to be something of a loner and I don’t think he has a huge amount of friends or associates within the wrestling business.

On a side note purely because I was just thinking about it here is a list of people I would like to see inducted to the Hall of Fame in the near future:

Davey Boy Smith
Owen Hart
Vader
Psycho Sid
Bam Bam Bigelow
The Steiner Brothers
The Dudley Boys
The Natural Disasters
Demolition
Tazz
Sabu
Rob Van Dam
The Sandman
Tommy Dreamer
Ahmed Johnson
Jeff Jarrett
Hakushi
Sean Waltman
Ken Shamrock
Christian

As nice as that list is Fletch unfortunately I don't see Owen going into the hall of fame with his wife stopping the E from doing anything with him that isn't part of the WWE network.

As far as I'm concerned X-Pac doesn't deserve to go in unless it is part of D-X and that's probably the only way that Chyna will go in at the moment as well.

Another good call, but again I say they simply must induct Vader this year.

Vader and Christian need to go in....however i'm not sure they'd put Bam Bam and Vader in the same year...and Bam Bam needs to go in too.
