Goldberg is a good shout to headline this years class. As I’ve said before I think he felt his return in late 2016 through to Wrestlemania told a pretty perfect story to round off his career and of course his family got to see him in the ring, so I think he is quite happy to settle in to retirement now.

Vader needs to go in but Bam Bam Bigelow is rumoured for this year so not sure they’d do the two men together due to the obvious similarities.

Bam Bam is already dead though, Vader is going to die sooner rather than later. Induct him while he's still alive to appreciate it. I wish WWE would understand this very simple concept.

His quarter of an hour in ring work over the course of two years must have made all the difference, or he could have been in years ago.

I know it's supposedly a wrestling HOF, but it's still under a E banner and I don't think his two runs with the company justify being the top guy getting in.

I will be happier if Christian stopped being overlooked and got put in by Edge.

Goldberg's accomplishments alone make him a worthy headliner for the hall of fame this year.

I only wish I could be there live to see it I have a feeling it'll be a good speech

Speaking is not Bill Goldberg’s strong suit but I will be interested to see if he mentions his first WWE run where he left on bad terms and did nothing but speak negatively of WWE afterwards for years even once saying he enjoys vomiting more than he enjoyed working for WWE.

I've never been a Goldberg fan so this is neither a shock, surprise or a well welcomed HOF announcement - its just sort of meh

Seeing as he is the first inductee named, im assuming we will see Batista return at the Rumble or on the Raw after - they were both rumoured to make an appearance in some capacity

He's a legit headliner IMO. I was a huge Goldberg mark back in his prime, and I used to check every website I could think of to find news of his return to the WWF/WWE in 2001 and thereafter when WCW was bought out. Stone Cold vs Goldberg was foremost on my mind. I remember checking his website, and I think it was pro-wrestling illustrated's website, and any other site I could weekly.

Then he had his run and I loved it to begin with, but by the time it was over, I was pretty much done watching wrestling as a whole for many years because of how poorly he was used. Now, that said, he didn't have a real bad run, but WWE did really not know what to do with him.

They did much better with him this time around. I'm glad he's going into the Hall of Fame, as he is one of the few legit headliners WWE has yet to induct.

Goldberg himself is a man's man, and a good dude by all accounts. It's just a shame he was surrounded by such a toxic locker room both in WCW and then in the WWE as well. I always felt like he belonged in a locker room more like what exists today, and he would have had a much better time personally and maybe even professionally as well (though maybe not) had he come up in the PG era.

The Steve Austin Show podcasts with Goldberg were great as it showed a unique dynamic between the two that existed between no one else either of them have ever interacted with and I would have loved to have seen them together in their prime as two friendly rivals who like to give each other shit and ruffle each others feathers. Just the fact that Bill had the nuts to casually and successfully give Steve shit on his own show was amazing, then that Steve could give it back and Bill took it so lightheartedly was awesome.

Hopefully during the Hall of Fame speech Bill will give a few jabs to Vince, because I think he's about the youngest man alive today that could speak to Vince the way the old-timers used to; the way Jesse Ventura used to, calling him Junior, and treating him like a spoiled rich kid instead of WWE's Donald Trump.

It is surely interesting to see all the different perspectives from TUPeeps on Goldberg in this thread positive (like Rico) or negative (like Adders) since this announcement. There is absolutely no question he is deserving based on his mark on history and his dominance. But for me he just seemed okay. The guy was entertaining to watch for sure and no doubt one of the most powerful there's ever been; but he'll never be somebody I'll mention first among my favorites even among power guys.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if a Hall of Fame deal was part of his 2016 return; even if just in the form of verbal agreement.

His first WWE run did start strong with feuds with The Rock and then Chris Jericho but after that his feud with Triple H was where it went all down hill for him honestly I don't blame him for leaving triple h himself was on a massive power trip and raw suffered for it.

His second run was good I enjoyed his decimation of Brock Lesnar but I really wanted that dream match with the Undertaker and when we didn't get that I was dissapointed but also glad we got a small taste at the royal rumble
