-- Dustin "Goldust" Rhodes has signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment, although it is unknown if it's a Legends deal or a talent contract. WWE has definitely talked about giving him a regular gig with the company. His status with WWE should be clarified soon. Goldust appeared on Raw last night in the Kung Fu Naki dance off.

* If it's a legends deal it would make a mockery of what the word "legend" is suppose to actually mean.

* The problem with Dustin is he's only ever a success when he does the Goldust owned WWE gimmick.

* He could work on a short term contract, because anything longer they would soon run out of things for him to do.

* I'd like to see him do classic comedy like back in the Booker T days. Therefore he needs to be put with someone.......

Are WWE going to going to ignore the fact the Goldust is Cody's brother because if they do make this known it will hurt Cody. It would be better for Goldust to go to Smackdown or ECW away from his bro.

Goldust is very funny so I hope they use that side of him. However expect for him to be released within a year as his gimmick can only go so far

I'm a little suprised that WWE hired this guy back again after how they used him before. But Goldust is one of my favorite characters simply because of his antics, so hopefully he'll get to do some funny things this time and not just jobbing. So hopefully WWE will use this guy right.

something that would be absolutely hilarious is if he did the Tourette's thing around Orton and Batista but noone else.  Remember them throwing him into the electrical outlet?  Say he does that to one of those two and they are looking at him all weird and someone else walks up and he goes back to being normal and asks one of them, "what's up" or something like that.  That would be hilarious.

Quote source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

-- WWE is still thinking about using Goldust as a regular character since they are short on wacky gimmick characters, not to mention that he surprisingly garnered nearly as many votes as Honky Tonk Man & "Rowdy" Roddy Piper for Cyber Sunday. Discussions have gone back-and-forth over the past week regarding using him. Head Raw writer Brian Gewirtz is a big advocate of Runnels as he's pushing for more comedy on Raw, and he thinks he can write good lines for him. Gewirtz also believes it's a good time for the lapsed WWE audience to see a familiar character from the past. Should Goldust get brought in, he'll pretty much be used in a way to put guys they're trying to elevate over as he's a credible opponent. Internally, there was said not be much support in bringing back Goldust, but the legit fan response greatly helped his cause in landing a job with WWE. There's also an interesting scenario WWE can eventually do with brother Cody Rhodes.

* Yeah I was shocked as well by the amount of votes he got for Cyber Sunday. That can't have done him any harm in earning a new contract.

* I don't always agree with Gerwitz, but more comedy would be good as long as it's funny not daft.

* It would be hillarious for Cody to bump into Goldust backstage. Imagine the comedy that could come from it.

* Even better have Dusty Rhodes on Raw as a one off and have all three of them in the same segment lol.

*I said it before and I'll say it again...once the 3nd and third generation wre....supersta........entertainers form the faction he could be the loser older brother that's trying to be like the cool younger brother.

*In effect it would be going with Gerwitz for comedy AND being mixed in a bit with his brother. After all, Cody isn't going to be WHC material IMO.

*Either way...things should be interesting.

I'm glad to see he's coming back longer than intended.

I still remember the segment between him, Kane and Booker and the Dead body comment.

"Who has sex with a dead body?" - Booker
Goldust slowly raises hand.
"What?! I was young and stupid! Give me a break!" - Goldust

LMAO! I would love to see that Goldust back. However, with the rating down, his gimmick may be toned down as well.

I would really love to see a Cody and Dustin confrontation though.
"Let the emptiness swallow you whole."

From Jim Ross Website............

Quote Do you think there is a place for Goldust and his character is this new PG direction? Considering his character is supposed to push homophobic buttons in people. What I have seen of his character seems very watered down from what it once was.

I see Goldust more as a comedic character who can still be utilized effectively in a character protagonist role. Goldust has nice, comedic timing which should fit well on Raw.

* I think with a few tweeks to the character he can appeal even more to the PG rating than he does already.

* Dustin Rhodes is a funny bloke in character and even if he doesn't wrestle he should be in segments.

* Raw is short on comedy, so why not give Goldust a bit of a push? He's good at getting over.

I agree admin, Goldy is one of the most over characters in WWE history, especially during the Attitude Era and he has shown in the past that he can be funny, so WWE should utilise that, even if they are PG, they can easily make Goldy a funny character still by having him joke around and such.
