well we couldnt win the match after being in a great position. i think winning one test match was always going to win this series. cook can be very pleased with his debut and hoggard played fantastic and is still underated. to say both vaughan and trescothick were missing i reckon we did very well indeed.

worth a mention is the 5th one day international between south africa and australia i have just watched. without a doubt the best cricket match EVER bar none. australia got over 430 in 50 overs which beat the greatest ever one day score by 30 odd runs. only for south africa to WIN the match by one wicket with one ball to spare. they have now won the best of 5 series 3-2 and proved they are the best one day team in the world.

It was a great match, when I saw the Australia innings score I thought that there was no way that South Africa were going ot beat it, but it surprised me. Now they just have to win the test series.

I saw quite a bit of the Aussies innings and didn't give SA a chance.  The crowd were cheering dot balls like wickets they were getting that badly hammered and I bet no one expected them to even get close let alone win.  Without doubt the best game of cricket ever played and it'll be talked about for years to come.  Think they beat the previous record for aggregate runs in a match by about 170.  Just shows how good the Aussie bowling attack is without Warne and McGrath.

now onto the shite that is england against india. that is what you get when you play bloody negative. the first 7 overs yesterday we got 7 runs. they were playing for a bloody draw with 5 sessions left so got what thet deserved. they should have carried on playing there usual game.

Totally agree.  There was just too much time left to play out a draw and if they had scored at a decent rate the India might not have had enough time to get the runs.  Seems like we're scared of facing spinners and most of the batsmen contributed to their own downfalls.  Now their heads will go down and it'll probably end up 2-0.

vaughan, trescothick, giles, harmison, and jones all missing and we still won in india a test for the first time in 22 years. what a great team performance and we did it by a huge margin too. i think we will do better in the one day matches because we know we have to start upping that side of our game with the world cup coming up next year.

It is looking like we are going to beat the Presidents XI today, if we do pretty well in the one-dayers then it will take some confidence going into the summer against Sri Lanka and Pakistan when we will have our full first team back.

the one day team was shocking again today. they dont seem to care as much as they do in the tests which is a shame with the world cup only a year away. australia in recent years have played 40 or so more one day matches then england. that is a bloody lot and we should be playing more one day matches this summer then we are.

How crap was the England line up.  So many players were missing that the team was barely up to county standard.  None of the 5 test bowlers played and there was only really Strauss, Pietersen and Collingwood in the batting.  Pitersen is just unbelievable averaging 65 after 30 ODI's yet he always gets out to a bad shot.  Guess thats just the way he plays.
