Now I dont want to detract this thread too much from DZ because hell be overjoyed that Villa got promoted and its great for the PL that they are back in the big time .... however ....

THE TAKEOVER IS FUCKING HAPPENING

I dont know what people see or think of us Geordies from what is portrayed in the media but anyone that has been up here for a weekend, a visit or even to a game know that THIS CITY BREATHES FOOTBALL.

NUFC is our lives and we take our football seriously - that much is true. We dont believe we should be winning leagues or qualifying for champions league football - all we have asked for is a team that tries hard and under Rafa we seem to have that.

We have now *according to all sources and all edia outlets - including some from UAE* been purchased by the Man City owners relative and the city is absolutely buzzing.

Mike Ashley, whilst he has removed a certain amount of debt etc has ruined this club and all we want is an owner who loves the club or who is prepared to invest so we can at least compete with newly promoted teams and the lower half teams.

Yes if we get taken over, banter will be on overdrive and youll see daft requests about odds on us winning the league, odds on us signing Mbappe etc but we just want this to go through and we just want to be able to compete.

Football is all about clubs with historical fan bases, NUFC, LFC, AVFC are all examples of that and its about time that clubs like these had some good news for a change.

Fingers crossed it actually goes through - weve been here before a few times - at this time of year.

Please let it be true.

Now back to Villa ...

Great season - especially the last 13 games or so, great win today. Tammy and Grealish are made from the PL and im looking forward to re-establishing the rivalry between the 2 clubs.

Well done Villa.

I''m drunk

GET IN ME BABBIES

We're coming home

is the takeover for real from the outside looking in it looks like Mike Ashley is taking a leaf out of Sir Doug's book and whipping up the rumours to boost season ticket sales. I'm tempted to bet on him to still be the Geordie come September 1st.

Congratulations DangerZone it was totally deserved against a Derby team lacking any attacking threat until they brought on a couple of subs. They loved the backwards pass even at 2-0 down and lacked urgency at getting the ball forward.

Double H are you one of those fans who bash Man City for accepting dirty oil money from a country with shit human rights, but now it's all OK because it's your own side LOL

If it makes the so called Big 6 a Big 7 then good luck to ya. My weekend in Newcastle when Webby had his stag do was quality. It's a great city of decent people and plenty to do. You're a one club city with a loyal fanbase getting 50k crowds outside the top flight and so i'm surprised someone rich hasn't seen before now the huge potential there.

Well its champions league final day today - whos everyone wanting to win?

I dont really mind but i like Pochetino as a manager so i would probably prefer Spurs of the 2 sides.

In more saddening news today though, ex-Arsenal player Jose Antionio Reyes died in a car crash at the age of just 35 :(

Did the Bet 365 offer of up to 25 quid on a pre match single and the same as a in play free bet.

I popped 25 on Liverpool to win in 90 minutes and in play went for no on both teams to score.

Even if Liverpool don't win to nill in 90 minutes at least I won't have my account restricted like many will who put on a no lose bet like 25 quid on Liverpool to lift the trophy, 25 free bet on Spurs which pre game would have gave you either 11 or 18 quid profit depending on who won.

LeBron James made himself a nice $45 million on that Liverpool win.
