Not been announced yet but our new head coach is going to be Daniel Stendel who's a East German. Work is being done in our ground and one of the workers took a photo from afar of him yesterday having his picture taken holding up a scarf. Sure it will be made official today.

He had Hamburg in the German second tier a point off automatic promotion but in 4th place when the new owners sacked him with a 53% win rate because of a jobs for boys thing to bring in their own man. The new guy then got them promoted off the back of the spade work Stendel did.

He's spent his 15 months out of work visiting clubs like Arsenal and Brondby to learn. He sounds really good. Bringing in a head coach at the end of a season with no history in English football, is better than chucking someone into a relegation battle like we did Jose Morais.

Ok so a couple of things .....

1) Newcastle seem to have one of the most difficult starts i remember us ever having

2) Despite all of the money the Premier League teams have made from TV rights, can someone explain to me why Mike Ashley has decided to up Season Ticket prices in the way he has?

So to explain a bit further, when we got relegated, as a gesture of goodwill LOL Fat Mike decided to drop the prices of Season Tickets ever so slightly. Following immediate promotion back to the promised land, Fat Mike decided to keep the Season Ticket prices the same as what they were for the Championship season - which would seem like yet another gesture of goodwill.

What has since transpired is this:

What would have been the price rise, had we survived (and ultimately ended up as a price drop) plus the price rise we would have had to pay for getting promoted have now both been added on to next seasons ticket prices so my Season Ticket has gone from 518 quid to 628

Happened to pop to Sports Direct last night to buy a Puma waterproof coat and a new pair of canvas Adidas trainers LOL

Fiver a game is a big increase. Clubs here should be more like Germany where gate prices are such a small percentage of income that you can get like a Bayern Munich season ticket for around 100 quid.

Thing is Mike Ashley knows he can get away with it because whatever he charges until he sells the club, you're from a football mad city so someone somewhere will always buy any seat that someone gives up

Gonna request a bet on Bielsa to quit before Christmas with Leeds in relegation zone.

It's a cert.

Blackpool away in the league cup first round, in one of the only ties I could be interested in at that point.

It's the week i'm usually there, but I got a few weeks later this time so can't fit it in with my holiday.

I will probably pop there anyway. A few beverages at Manchester pub on the seafront and a brisk short walk to the ground in hopefully glorious august summer holiday weather.
