Our manager said not long since that he doesn't want trouble causers, yet our first signing of the summer Kelvin Etuhu has spent time in the slammer. I wouldn't have signed him as it goes against being a family club. Our manager also said he's learned from the Vaz Te situation of 12 month contracts. So what does he do? Brings in Etuhu on a 12 month contract. So he bangs them in first half of season Vaz Te style, then come January we have another Vaz Te situation of losing a player on the cheap rather than nothing in 12 months time. Yeah we could offer him a new contract but vultures will turn his head with deals we can't come close to matching just like West Ham did.

Paul Lambert has allegedly told Alan Hutton he has no future at Villa Park, Is he trying to be the most popular manager ever?

It was reported that Lambert is looking to make Kyle Naughton his first signing as a direct replacement for the hatchetman Hutton.

villa should have a half decent season if they keep what stars they have and build. Lambert is the sort of manager that can make your average players - stars and i think he will do that with the likes of bannon and ireland

also watch these and try telling me he isnt the best player in the world

Bannan and Ireland are better than average, the problem they have had is being hamstrung by managers who refuse to attack.

This season will decide whether Agbonlahor has a future at Villa Park, being played on the wing has not suited him. If Lambert has him up front he should be scoring 15-20 goals a season.

15-20 a season for Gabby? No chance, Bent is the goal scorer at Villa so if he's fit he'll be the one that is banging the goals in.

He hasn't hit those figures so far, but with the attributes he has he should be scoring that many, With Lambert preferring to actually attack everything will be in place for him to come a close(ish) second in the clubs scoring charts.

He'll need to at least hit double figures if he expects to stay at the club.

Totally, as a striker playing most games you should be aiming for double figures. However if he does become available I wouldn't be shocked to see him team up with O'Neil again.

It will be a real coup for us if we pull it off, but i'll believe it when I see it. Even our own board member Don Rowing has said he won't be signing on monday. Maybe it will be tuesday then I dunno. He's known for having an attitude but so did Ricardo Vaz Te and that soon got drummed out of him by Keith Hill and David Flitcroft. The dude went for over 10 million pounds between Spurs and Middlesborough and has played for some of the biggest teams in the best leagues in Europe like Celta Vigo (when they were good), Spurs, Marsielle, and Ajax.
