It has been reported by Dave Meltzer on Tuesday’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio that Finn Balor is expected to work a program with Bray Wyatt following WWE Payback on April 30th. The two came across one-another when Wyatt appeared on the screen after Balor’s match during the night of RAW’s portion of the “Superstar Shake-Up”.

I'd be happy with that and it would given creative a chance to bring back the Demon King.

Have Bray always seem to get the upperhand, thus Finn realises he's got to get weird and get into mind games in order to make the fued a more level playing field.

I suspect it will be yet another fued Bray ends up losing.

hopefully the premature end to this due to Wyatt's illness means we won't have to watch him dress up, i'd rather have had Sister Abigail be a real person, not a persona. maybe if they go back to this, it will be a better run.

I agree. I was actually interested in see who Sister Abigail would be, and then they had Wyatt dress in drag. That was about as bad as Fake Undertaker.

Wyatt is a tremendous talent, and he can absorb a lot of shit booking thrown his way, but sooner or later they need to take him seriously too. Maybe Wyatt need to come up with his answer to the American Badass, leave his old creepy gimmick behind for a time and just be some guy people don't want to fuck with.

I do have hope that what would have happened is that someone would be revealed as the real Sister Abigail during the match, but at the same time, it's far too carny, and the match was already carny enough.

So the in-ring debut of The Fiend at Summerslam.

I loved The Fiend character, the look is awesome, the horror inspired mask and outfit, the new creepy lantern. Also loved the new theme which was a revamped version of Bray's old music.

Bray has nailed this character hes obviously completely invested in it, the mannerisms and the lighting effects just worked beautifully.

The match was basically a short showcase for Wyatt which was absolutely fine, Balor is going on leave so it was the perfect time for him to do a job like this and Finn did a good job of looking a bit scared when Wyatt came out.

My only slight concern is how will Wyatt get on working matches in the mask? Hopefully its been designed to be breathable and allow good visibility while in the ring, I had seen reports that he may have to adapt his ring style to allow for wearing the mask but I saw no real evidence of that here.

Quote Bray Wyatt vs. Finn Balor: Bray is wrestling as "The Fiend" in his mask for his match. Bray starts off with a mandible claw on Balor, then he stomps on him. Bray follows up with a headbutt and some punches in the corner. Bray misses a shot in the corner. Bray bends backwards and Balor stops in his tracks. Bray follows up with a clothesline and more strikes, then he twists Balor's neck around. Bray follows up with a version of the Rock Bottom. Bray looks at his hands and starts freaking out. He grabs Balor and looks for the Sister Abigail, but Balor escapes. Balor hits the sling blade on Bray, and then connects with several kicks. Balor hits a knee strike, then he goes to the top rope. Finn goes flying down towards Bray, but Bray catches him and gives him the Mandible Claw for the finish.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

 - The lights go out and we hear Bray laughing over the speakers, then some creepy sounds play. A spotlight hits Bray and he looks into the camera. The lights go out again, and when they come back on, Bray is gone, and Balor is left recovering in the ring.

Management are high on Bray to beat a popular babyface clean so quickly.

Love the new set up especially the revamp of his theme music sang by a woman now.

Even with such a short match you have to think Bray couldn't wait to get the mask off again backstage LOL

For as great as Wyatt has apparently been (I still haven't seen his re-debut) I'm also really interested in the news I've heard about a tease of getting Balor together with AJ Styles, Gallows & Anderson. If that happens, on top of everything else WWE has been doing to right the ship. Then I'm back.

There is talk of repackaging Finn Balor and one idea is to put him in the OC with Styles and co, I would quite like to see that but the only thing that makes me think its unlikely is what happens to the Demon? Its that version of the Balor character that WWE see as money and would the Demon work as a heel? Especially now Wyatt is on the scene as The Fiend, wouldn't it make more sense to run a Demon vs Fiend feud? Its also worth noting Balor is undefeated as the Demon and apparently Vince wants to keep that streak going.

Wyatt's entrance at Summerslam was epic.

Fun fact,  the music he used was created by a band called Code Orange and was based on a version created by some fan on YouTube. A few hundred  of us tweeted him with it and asked him to use it. He replied to one guy and said it was cool but he wanted a different artist if WWE could agree to something - I guess they couldn't and hence the current theme is the one shared to him from YouTube

They need to keep this new Bray Wyatt character almost a special attraction though, we don't need to see The Fiend on Raw and Smackdown every week or even on every PPV. This is the beauty of this new character though, Firefly Fun House Bray can promote the matches and engage in the storylines through his segments and they can perhaps have The Fiend only appear in the ring.
