Anyone seen it yet? E have been talking up the reviews. That's because it's been a success because the talented Stephen Merchant was involved instead of the usual E Film writers. Anyone who's seen him on An Idiot Abroad with Ricky Gervais giving tasks to Karl Pilkington to complete.

91% on Rotten Tomatoes is probably unheard of for wrestling related movies.....

I will watch it. The Rock and Stephen Merchant are both cool. I don't watch Game Of Thrones so about time I watched Lena Headley in something considering she went to the same high school as me (she's much older though). Nick Frost isn't bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch his stuff generally.

Vince Vaughn is in it too and I enjoy his work, he's proven to be excellent in more serious roles as of late when previously he was mostly just known for his comedy stuff.

I'm a fan of Stephen Merchant too, I enjoy his sense of humour a lot, I actually saw him do a live stand up show down here in Pompey a few years back and it was hilarious.

Florence Pugh seems to be a pretty capable actress from the little I've seen her in so far, she seems to be landing some pretty meaty roles which shows that she's obviously held in quite high regard for her acting, plus she's a extremely attractive lady.

The world of pro wrestling is something that needs to be explored more in film, up until now it's only really been the Mickey Rourke flick The Wrestler that's been seen in the mainstream, that film got huge critical acclaim as well. I have heard that film's dramatising Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon and the Benoit tragedy are all in the pipeline.

I'm hoping I'll be able to convince the wife to go see it on the 10th. It's the Monday before my birthday and it's a day off from work for her, plus the kids will be in school so it'll be kind of a birthday date for the two of us and we won't have to pay for them to see it.

this will be downloaded once a copy is available on KAT. couldn't afford the Odeon pass, otherwise I would see it while it's on. it looks okay, some people are nitpicking about it making out she debuted on the main roster without being that well known in NXT, and that NXT as a promotion wasn't even a thing when she was signed.

you know that feeling where you know you don't really do that much, but you've got more of a life than people you find online.

Stephen Merchant has done a good job of promoting it too, and certainly is enjoying letting people know he's two inches taller than Dwayne Johnson.

I saw this at Sundance Film Festival with the cast. If I may I'd be happy to share our review.

I just watched this yesterday. It was actually quite good. They definitely took some liberties, but all-in-all it was an enjoyable movie. I think my biggest complaint of all was that they completely skipped over her time on NXT-TV as NXT women's champion and made it look like she went from barely getting by in NXT's training facility to winning the Diva's Championship the night after Mania, and in a much longer match and after freezing up on the mic.

However, had I not been following her career prior to watching the movie, I wouldn't have known any better and the storyline would have seemed pretty good.

Aside from that the movie was pretty enjoyable from start to finish. I didn't realize Cersei Lannister was her mother though. No wonder she's so fucking tough. :p

Finally watched this recently. I found it a very watchable film but I think that's largely due to my wrestling fandom, otherwise I would say this was a pretty average film.

I didn't like the fact that so much of it was complete fiction, in the build up to the film's release I'd been led to believe that only the scene where The Rock cuts a promo on Paige and her brother had been added in for dramatic effect, well after watching it seems that most of her interaction in the movie with Rock never actually happened and chances are they never even met until this film was green lit.

Vince Vaughn's character was completely made up he never existed, I think they also exaggerated the story behind her brother not being selected for WWE as I had always understood it to be because they didn't like his look and physique.

Also Zelina Vega played AJ Lee in Paige's Raw debut scenes, well that's fine as there is a resemblance between the two but they made no effort to give her AJ's look or mannerisms didnt even dress her like AJ, she just looked like Zelina Vega.

So overall if you're looking for a true account of Paige's road to WWE you won't really find it here, it does a good job of covering her family and background and there are some quite funny moments involving them, but really I would say a watchable film mostly to be enjoyed by wrestling fans.
