Quote Tazz's current announcing contract with WWE expires at the end of this year. He is currently in the renegotiation process with WWE. According to reports, he also tried out for a satellite radio job as a possible fallback plan. Some feel he tried out so he could gain a better deal with WWE and has even reportedly offended some people by playing hardball with the company.

On another related announcing note, Jim Ross' contract with WWE expires next month. There is said to be little chance that he will be leaving WWE, especially now that the company realizes how important he is to the Monday Night Raw announcing team when attempts to sign Mike Goldberg away from UFC failed.

I hope WWE aren't going to mess around here or they might find themselves in the nightmare position of having to find a couple of announcers. Taaz does have a history of rubbing people up the wrong way so is less likely to sign. Jim Ross on the otherhand i don't think we have to worry about. He is a compant man and loves his job too much to give it up. He's in the lead position of all six commentary people both on and off screen. Trying to sign Mike Goldberg to take his place i don't believe bothers Jim Ross anyway because he was recovering from a major operation.

As far as Im concered if the WWE lost JR it would be the worst thing that happened as there is no one there that could step into he's shoe as he is truely the voice of Raw

However if they lost Tazz I couldn't care less! He bore's me and doesn't give any insight into the matches like an ex pro should!

I don't think Todd Grisham or Josh Mathews can make the step up, but I don't think they have to because Joey Styles as proved he can do it on he's own and it would also feel more like the traditional ECW!

Feeling more like the traditional ECW? You think Vince is interested in that when he'd rather be called a desecrator to ECW's memory than a copycat to ECW's former way? But if Styles can do it, then there really is no need for Tazz. As far as JR is concerned, sure his contract is running out for now, but is that really a question? Of course he's gonna stay with the WWE! He loves that job, and they need him on it, both more than anybody. Losing Jim Ross is like giving Scotty 2 Hotty the WWE Championship: it's organizational suicide, and no chance in hell is it gonna happen.

Losing Ross would be huge but without Tazz, they would be allright. Tazz was awesome on SmackDown and I thought he'd be better on ECW but he actually sucks on there.

Agreed. And despite the fact that Tazz was good on Smackdown, JBL makes him look sorry even there now! And that's coming from a guy who thought JBL's coming as the Smackdown commentator was going to be "a propaganda guy at the table!"

Quote As reported earlier, Jim Ross' WWE contract expires at the end of the month. He is expected to re-sign with the company, but neither side is too interested in signing a long-term deal. If they are not be able to reach a deal before the end of the month, Ross will work on a week-to-week deal until he is ready to leave or WWE decides it is time to replace him again.

If both sides are happy then that is all that is important. That being said it is a dangerous game to play having a week to week contract. Afterall if he quit then who would take is place in less then a week ? I reckon WWE have so much trust in JR that nobody would be in mind for backup if he left. Not that he would anyway having one of the most cushy jobs in the industry. He's got a job for life but i would have thought it would have been better getting him on a three year deal. With all his history in the business you would think he would have done a autobiography by now.

Well according to Jim Ross website, he is NOT working without a contract. That makes more sense due to the risk of him not turning up for whatever reason. The whole Tazz contract situation as gone really quiet at the moment. I wouldn't expect either of them to leave WWE at all. But Jim Ross has more say with his negotiations easily. Tazz needs WWE more than the other way around. More on these two deals will probably become more public later on in the year.

Tazz actually could be a huge loss to the WWE, TNA would and should bend over backwards to bring him in, either to their announce table or as a part-time wrestler.

What would WWE be missing if he left? You're going to have to explain that one!

He's the second best color commentator they have. You'd rather he left and was replaced by Lita or some shit?
