I don't know exactly what is happening with him. his mic work was off this week, and that was before Booker, Cole and Graves began to talk over him asking for his mic to be turned off and that they were going for a nap.

at the same time, his in ring work was better than I've ever seen it, which admittedly isn't saying that much, but still.

he definitely suffered from the flat crowd. once he realised they weren't going to react the way a US crowd would, he seemed to flounder. be interesting to see what he does next week, but I really do hope the Cruiserweight match is dropped to the pre-show .

I blame someone backstage for this week. He obviously had to improvise a bit as someone obviously missed their cue....and the dead crowd really didn't help at all.

it felt like watching a Trump speech, and I wonder if that was what they were going for, since he would say something, go off on a slight tangent, and then return to it.

i'd honestly have preferred a "What?!" chant after ever sentence to what the crowd actually did.

Whoever booked commentary to act that way made a dreadful decision. Talent in a ring should always have at least one person on their side behind the commentary desk.

Quote Drew Gulak and WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore are backstage warming up.

- Gulak and Amore make their way out to the ring next and Enzo cuts a promo about his match with Kalisto on Sunday. Kalisto and Akira Tozawa interrupt, and we have a match.

- Akira Tozawa and Kalisto vs. Enzo Amore and Drew Gulak: Gulak and Tozawa start off, but Enzo quickly tags in and blindsides Tozawa. Enzo and Gulak double team until Kalisto tags in and springboards onto both of them. Enzo and Gulak roll out to ringside for a breather, then Gulak attacks Tozawa from behind. Gulak beats down Tozawa until Kalisto manages to get the tag. Enzo comes in too, and Kalisto unloads with kicks. Kalisto hits a cross body for a two count on Enzo as Gulak breaks it up. Tozawa tags in and hits a missile dropkick on Gulak. They throw Gulak and Enzo outside, then Tozawa hits a suicide dive on them. Kalisto runs the ropes next and hits another dive onto the heels. Back in the ring, Tozawa puts the boots to Enzo then goes up top. Tozawa goes for a Senton but Gulak pulls Enzo away. Kalisto takes out Gulak, then Enzo shoves Tozawa into Kalisto. Enzo hits the Jawdonzo on Tozawa for the three count.

Winners: Enzo Amore and Drew Gulak

I would expect Enzo to retain on sunday, so I am surprised they have him get a clean tag win beforehand.

Gulak is being allowed to show more personality through association, so Enzo is doing a good job of elevating.

people will now be expecting Kalisto to get the win, since Enzo pinned Tozawa.

still hope, if I bother watching Survivor Series, that gets bumped to the pre-show, not least because it's a match that simply doesn't fit in with the theme of the rest of the PPV.

For what he's done for the division he deserves his place on the main card.

The second time around he's looking more like a champion, being booked strongly.

The way his first run ended, I expected him to get battered in matches and sneak a surprise victory all the time.

Everything about this guy is plain arrogance I can't stand him in or out of the ring

The only thing saving him at the moment is the fact that he can talk a good game I wish they would move him over to being a manager that way if Nia has to be stuck with this waste of space he at least can talk for her and try and get her more over

Apparently his on air character is close to his real life persona, which is probably why it's so easy for so many to hate him playing a heel LOL

As noted, Enzo Amore was scheduled to face Cedric Alexander on WWE Raw tonight in a Cruiserweight Championship match.

Amore was sent to the hospital on Monday due to illness. The champion posted a video on Instagram from Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami hooked up to an IV. Amore was sick earlier in the day. The status of that match is not known at this time.

In an update, Amore took to social media to share his unfortunate predicament and not being able to defend his Cruiserweight Title against Alexander on this week’s WWE Raw.

“I apologize to the fans who won’t get to see a #G tonight in #Miami … I did everything I could from Toronto to Miami… From negative weather, through customs, to opting out on Diddy’s nye party in Miami, 10 hrs in a hospital, I did everything in my power to make sure I would be in that ring tonight to whoop Cedric Alexander’s hind-end … Ultimately: it was outta my hands. And I got the best freakin hands,” Amore wrote on Instagram.

Never a good time to be really ill, but especially not when in the party paradise of Miami to see in the new year.

I suspect it will only be one week he misses and he will be back next Monday instead.

Quote As reported yesterday, Enzo Amore admitted himself to a local hospital in Miami and was given IV fluids for what appears to be the flu. As a result, he was unable to compete last night on Raw in his scheduled title match.

-- According to reports, Enzo apparently checked himself out of the emergency department and headed to the venue for Raw and arrived at the show only an hour before it was to start. He then tried to lobby WWE officials to let him compete in the title match but was told that wasn't going to happen and that he should leave the arena immediately and return to his hotel. It is likely that Enzo also will not be on tonight's 205 Live as a precautionary measure but should be fine for later in the week and next week's Raw.

I respect the fact that he tried to work even when he was sick but at the same time it was foolish of him to go to the arena he was sick enough to go into the hospital then he should remain there and and that way no one else gets sick.

His Network interview with Corey Graves his worth a listen. He has a go at Cass for not finishing his match when he got injured and said for five years he's finished a match. For all the people that get riled up by him, he's a true professional for always being ready to go, no matter what his condition is.

Quote WWE Cruiserweight Champ Enzo Amore is out to the ring for a promo. He talks about being sick for New Year's Day and unable to compete because he was in the hospital. He thanks Nia Jax for bringing him soup when he was sick, and tells Cedric that Goldust is the closest he'll come to gold in 2018.

- WWE Cruiserweight Title: Enzo Amore (c) vs. Cedric Alexander: The opening bell sounds and Cedric takes control early on. Cedric hits a big kick as we see Nia backstage watching on a monitor. Enzo turns it around and sends Cedric out to the ringside floor. Back in the ring, Enzo uses the ref for a cheap shot and continues beating on Cedric. Enzo hits a running dropkick for a two count. Cedric starts to fight back, but Enzo stuns him with a knee to the face. Cedric comes back with a dropkick, and follows up with a handspring into a flying kick. Cedric pins for a two count, then Enzo starts fighting back with elbow strikes. Cedric fires back with another kick to the head, then springboards in for a flying clothesline but Enzo dodges it. Enzo rolls outside, and Cedric hits a suicide dive on him. Enzo starts selling an ankle injury as Cedric rolls back in the ring. A trainer is out to check on Enzo and the ref counts him out.

Winner via count out: Cedric Alexander

- Enzo retains the Cruiserweight Title due to the count out finish. We see Nia backstage again looking concerned about Enzo's injury. Enzo is helped to the back as Cedric celebrates his win.

- Back from the break, Enzo is backstage being checked on by a trainer. He says Enzo will undergo x-rays and maybe an MRI. Nia Jax walks in and Enzo thanks her and starts trying to no-sell his injury.

I suspect he will have a rematch with Cedric and retain again, probably on the Royal Rumble kick off show.

I hope this is the start of what they should have done from day 1 of his title run in being a beat up champion in regular need of medical help after only just retaining every time for one reason or another.
