Don't watch NXT so I never saw him but he caught my interest from the off. The fact that he used to just walk across backstage interviews, and The Miz and Kurt Angle would just look confused and ask who he was, I liked that. It was funny.

When he started his in-ring promos they were good but I think it was the Summerslam pre-show that really cemented him for me. He was always cutting face promos with heel heat, building up a stockpile of catchphrases that he would later use when he turned face but staying heel for now (because heels grow and faces draw) Rock style.

At Summerslam he briefly went face for a song and you saw just how huge this guy was going to be when they pulled that trigger. He played a jovial, fun song that had everyone in the audience clapping along.

And then he's like "Houston, when did you lose your balls" and the entire arena just turned on him. The betrayal. The fury. The hatred.

The fact that they're not solidly pushing him is solidly pushing him. People are getting invested in this guy, and they're desperate to see him go higher and higher. He hasn't been involved in any major storylines. He's had a couple of major matches but nothing really worth writing home about. The swell of support is only going to grow.

The best thing they can do right now is nothing at all. His promos are exciting. His matches are fun. He's been in the ring with a lot of the big names on Raw now so they might be swapping him for someone like Corbin, but if they just hold him as he is the fans are just going to get more and more determined to turn him face. When they do that, he'll be huge, but he'll be stuck where he is until he turns heel again.

I seriously can't wait though. I love this guy.
