Quote Elias comes out to the ring and sings a song about his friend The Miz. He then introduces Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas, who start going to town on the harmonicas. Elias gives them props for their harmonica skills and tells the crowd to give them a round of applause. Elias keeps playing but he's interrupted by fans chanting "we want Roman." Elias says he wants Roman more than any of them, and with that, the Intercontinental Campion makes his way out.

- Roman Reigns (c) vs. Elias: Axel and Dallas are at ringside in Elias' corner. The IC Title is on the line in this one. They lock up off the opening bell, then break it up and size each other up. Elias ends up backing Reigns into the corner until the ref backs him off. Reigns fires up and lays into Elias with right hands. Elias fires back with a knee to the mid section, then takes Reigns down. Elias sends Reigns into the ring post shoulder-first then covers for a two count. Elias applies a chin lock and works on keeping the Big Dog down. Reigns starts fighting up with right hands, but Elias drops him again with a clothesline. Reigns fights up, then Dallas gets on the apron and Reigns knocks him off. Axel gets on the other side of the apron and Reigns goes after him too. Elias capitalizes on the distractions with a clothesline on the Champion, and he's back in control. Elias continues the beat-down on Reigns until Reigns manages to shove Elias out to the ringside floor. Reigns follows him out and hits the Drive By, then Reigns decks Dallas with a Superman punch. Reigns gets distracted by Dallas, then turns around and spears Axel. Elias takes advantage of the distraction and decks Reigns, then takes him back in the ring. Elias goes up top and hits a flying elbow drop on the Champion for a two count. Elias starts getting frustrated and Reigns hits a powerbomb. Elias gets up and Reigns decks him with a superman punch for a two count. Reigns goes for a spear, but Elias blocks it with a knee. Reigns runs the ropes again and this time he successfully hits the spear for the three count.

Winner & still Intercontinental Champion: Roman Reigns

Very happy with his performance. It's good to see an heel looking strong enough to step up and want to face the guy promoted as the number one babyface in the company.

He lost as we all knew he would, but he came out of the match looking better than expected.

Elias is getting better all the time and when a babyface turn does come, he will make a lot of money from t shirt sales.

I've always enjoyed the Elias push because it's been a reverse face push the whole time. There's a reason Miz avoids doing catchphrases on TV unless they're patronising; they get over. Who wants to walk with Elias is over.

Elias is a real master of the art too, to the point where he can have a whole crowd clapping along (as he did on a pre-show earlier in the year) and then turn them all to hatred in the flip of a switch ("Houston, when did you lose your balls?")

Then he does cool stuff, such as the leapfrog to the top rope, that was amazing. And singing gimmicks are slowly getting over again.

Big fan, face turn will come and it will be glorious.

I've also been a fan of Elias and his current gimmick is working a treat

He's always looked solid in the ring but he was very good against Reigns on Raw

I'd like to see him have an IC title run or even a tag title run whilst they continue to build him up and possibly like you said turn him face

Tag title run is a good idea I hadn't considered actually. Possibly after the next shakeup with someone like Aiden English.

A classic singer with a guitarist? Sounds like it could work.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be with anyone that matches his current gimmick - could easily be with one of his followers - I mean Axel and Bo haven’t done anything lately and he’s saved them from being abandoned as Miz is gna be gone for a long time - so could even be one of them

I would prefer it to be with Alden English because they are both really good in the ring too and could both benefit from a decent run

There are a few people it could be but nobody with both the context and the need for development that I can think of. It's much like how I wanted Ziggler to be the leader of a stable with Breezango; sometimes characters match. People don't really have gimmicks any more as much as defined personalities.

He showed glimpses of a face turn this week in his backstage segment with Kurt Angle, also his reactions are getting stronger, Elias is really over.

Elias is one of my favourites on the current roster along with Braun Strowman. I think he can go far too, a decent look and size, charismatic, and a gimmick that is over and he’s clearly comfortable in. Is funny how he pretty much tanked in NXT but is enjoying real success on the main roster.

he's definitely going to be a big deal at some point. last week's match with Reigns should have been a massive wake-up call to everyone out there to watch him. it was exactly what he needed as a performer, as his matches to date have been dull more because of them not feeling like anything special, sop hopefully moving forward we'll see more matches like that.

The Reigns match proved that Elias looks the part in a main event big match setting.

Given how over Elias is getting I wonder if he might be the next Intercontinental champion? One booking scenario would be for Elias to defeat Roman for the belt and then turn face just prior to Wrestlemania and perhaps defend against The Miz.
