Quote In a new report from Fightful, former IMPACT star Eli Drake's recent firing had to due with comments he made on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast when he called IMPACT out for "booking him into oblivion." Drake also refused to wrestle an intergender matchup with Tessa Blanchard at United We Stand, which at first was suspected as an angle, but ended up being legitimate. The situation grew worse when Drake mentioned in a tweet that Killer Kross would decimate fellow Knockout Jordynne Grace if they ever actually squared off in the ring. IMPACT higher-ups, specifically Scott D'Amore, were not happy with Drake's handling of the match announcement, adding to further heat he had already garnered since the new regime took over.

Reports state that IMPACT is attempting to lock Drake into a one-year non-compete clause. Drake himself said that he wasn't planning on re-signing once his contract concluded in May.

 We'll keep you updated.

Such a shame as he's not only my favourite to watch on Impact, he's my current favourite guy to watch in the whole industry.

He won't be short on offers. I would like to see E give him a second chance, but suspect AEW will be after him as they would be stupid not to be.

Sounds like folks didn't like him speaking his mind and tried to silence his voice. He's better off gone.

I hope he goes to AEW as in WWE I could see him going the same route as ECIII.

I haven't seen a huge amount of his work as I haven't really watched Impact in about 3 years now, but from the little I have seen he obviously has a great look and seemed pretty solid on the mic, not too sure how he is in the ring.

At this stage I would rather see top Impact talent go to AEW over WWE as they will have a better chance of being used well as the current WWE roster is loaded with underused talent.

I will help you out with a quick fire look at some of his better stuff. His catchphrases like DUMMY, let me talk to ya, YEAH and E-LI DRAKE got over so well he turned babyface briefly towards the end of his run where he hated the violence, said it's not wrestling and ended up trying to help Eddie Edwards who kept using a Kendo stick named Kenny.

Listing the top 5 dummies.......

Plenty of worthwhile videos just by searching him on You Tube.......

Whoever gets him next will make him a bigger name than Impact did. Usually a firing is a bad thing, but for him it will result in better money working for a company with better exposure regardless of if he signs for E or AEW.
