A straightforward victory for him against R Truth, which didn't do anything for him.

Most will have expected him to have won to stay in the main event picture where he's been used quite a bit recently.

No way is he winning the title at Night Of Champions. A name for the "definately not" pile.

Im mixed about these matches that they have been having like this. Of course WWE is going to say that it is to showcase SD stars and get ppl to watch it, but I think the brand extentsion may be coming to an end, that can be good and bad both, bad for some mid card guys who may not get a push on Raw but would on SD, but good in the case that if they keep both shows, they can build feuds with stories and give guys good pushes with and without the belts and make the titles mean something again, I would def hate to see either the IC or US title retired, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made. Anyway, I thought this match was typical with the way the feuds are going.

Even though they don't have live fans it would have been a better promo had it taken place in the ring.

I found it boring and it didn't have the energy or passion of a usual Edge promo and I didn't care about the story of his mum.

He signed back up on a full time contract so it wouldn't be bad if he won the Royal Rumble as he's not going to be a part timer.

Pretty sure he's on a part-time deal, he will probably be around more than someone like Brock Lesnar or Goldberg but I expect him to take breaks through the year. If/when the touring schedule resumes I'm not sure he will be part of that, chances are his deal is for TV and PPV appearances only. Considering he suffered a serious injury in only his third match back last year WWE would be smart to not work him too hard, plus he has more value as a special attraction legacy star.

The rumour is he will challenge Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania, that will be a good match and the promo work going into the match should be top notch stuff too. Edge vs Drew would be very good too but I think that would be better with a babyface vs heel dynamic and Edge as a face still has some legs at the moment, although I do hope he turns heel not long after Wrestlemania once the initial buzz of his return has faded a little, Edge definitely does his best work as a heel character.

I am pretty sure it was reported as a full time deal. By that I just saw it as he'd be on TV pretty much every week but do no house shows when they come back and wrestle every couple of months.

Edge was great there mocking The Miz for sharing what he wants to do.

I can see Drew being the champion he picks. If you're returning after thinking your career is over you'd rather be associated with the flagship broadcast.

My mistake, I have now seen reports confirming Edge is back full-time, however I do think by full-time they mean a pandemic full-time schedule which means just TV and PPV, when the live event touring eventually resumes I don't Edge working a full road schedule and may not work house shows at all.

It was a good segment with The Miz, people seem to be very critical of The Miz and John Morrison act lately but I always enjoy them even if they do seem to be booked mostly as jobbers to the stars these days.

I dont think Edge will pick Drew though, I think it will be Edge vs Roman at Wrestlemania so we get a babyface/heel dynamic plus as much as Drew is now a solidified main event star I do think Reigns/Edge feels like the bigger attraction.

I think we will see Edge vs Drew down the line but I see a Edge heel turn happening first, Edge does his best work in the heel role but he does currently still have some mileage left as a babyface before switching to the more effective version of his character.

So we have Edge v Reigns.

From a storyline perspective it makes sense i guess, having someone to knock Reigns off his perch but out of all of the champions in WWE, i think Reigns should have went up against someone meaningful with regards to the head of the table thing - Uso or The Rock or someone like that.

Maybe we get a swerve and Reigns retains because i dont think Edge needs a title run - hes big enough as it is plus it would really cement Reigns as the ultimate heel by ruining the whole Edge return party
