Well the WWE superstars name he hated, so he changed that to "entertainers" I think and it has stuck, so why not have the E in ECW as Entertainment instead of Extreme.

Anyway I really cant see WWE changing the name of ECW, even if it isnt ECW, why should they? They own the rights to the name so why not use it, sure its not the old ECW we grew up watching or have heard about, but really aslong as we have that old ECW remembered in our hearts, it will never die.

Thank you for saying that.  I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that feels that way.  I hardly got to see any of the original ECW but your thought on it is perfect.

Same with me, I never saw what it was like till 2002 and it was a year after ECW had died, but what I saw I fell in love with, it was so different and so amazing and what WWE has done to it, yes its a joke but nothing can stay the same forever. If you got "Forever Hardcore" or "Rise And Fall Of ECW" atleast it showcases some memorable moments of the land of extreme and what it was all about.

I am glad I am not the only one who still holds the memory of the old ECW dear.
I can remember vaguley that I was not even old enough to watch it, but my mom's fiancee at the time let me watch it with him (even though I wasnt allowed to)...and I was only 8, 9, 10 at the time, perhaps? Good times...

In fact, thank you, I should get ECW DVD's and give me friends a lesson on the REAL ECW.

I really wish everyone on here could have watched the Real ECW back in the day.
It was revolutionary, ECW Changed wrestling forever.
Without it none of the shows we watch Today would be the same.
And Yes- like you guys have all said on here
ECW will ALWAYS live on in our hearts and minds.

Mcmahon eventually needs to sort out some re-issues!

* Well it looks like all three main WWE shows then should have a name change.

* There's nothing raw about Raw or smack about Smackdown.

* There's only Superstars that has a name that works and can't be seen as false advertising.

See the problem with me not seeing ECW isnt because I wasnt allowed too, I would've been, its just it was never aired down here in Tasmania, I never got to see it until it came out on DVD in 2002 and damn it was like something I had never seen before, now I cant claim to be an ECW original fan as I had only seen two or three DVD's but when I got Rise & Fall, all I wished was just to see that old ECW once again, I would have loved to have been able to witness it and I even had a fun time reading up on the history of that one promotion... Hell if it wasnt for ECW, wrestling as a whole would probably still be a big mans sport with crappy cartoon gimmicks and who knows, WCW could still be here with WWE dead, if it wasnt for ECW, thats what couldve happened to WWE if they didnt follow the same suit as ECW.

* I understand they wanted to give Morrison a decent singles win, but I didn't like Evan Bourne having to be the one to job.

* What's he done wrong since his return? No Wrestlemania and now back to back jobbing duties.

* The match itself was pretty decent though and a good send off for Johnny Nitro ha ha.

Thats not really fair Admin, Raw and Smackdown are WWE creations through and through, ECW was created by someone else and fans of the original ECW feel that the name is being dragged through the mud by having the name attatched to a product that has nothing in common with the original, and in may peoples opinion, including mine, the product is vastly inferior to what you got to see in Paul Heyman's ECW promotion.

Personally now WWE has Superstars i would abandon ECW and extend Superstars in to a two hour show, absorb the ECW roster in to the Raw and Smackdown brands and use Superstars as the platform for under-used mid carders as well as show casing some inter-brand matches.

On to this weeks show....

Morrison vs Bourne was a excellent contest with lots of near falls, great to see Morrison bow out of the brand with a nice victory but as Admin said its a shame about Bourne, his return was fairly well hyped yet he didnt have a match at Mania and he has now been jobbed out in two consecutive matches.

Kozlov looked horrible as ever in a squash match, poor Matt Striker and Josh Matthews having to act like Kozlov was the greatest thing that could have happened to ECW.

Decent triple threat main event where Tommy Dreamer was pinned and eliminated from the title chase to Backlash. Im still wondering why they didnt just have the winner of the original Four way match named number one contender.

Where was Swagger again?? What does it say about a brand when the champion dosnt even show his face week after week, im predicting we will see a new ECW champion in Christian at Backlash because management clearly has no confidence in Swagger.
No Tiffany either, so he had a show that didnt feature the champion or the GM.
