Lee and Babe are both leaving soon. Masood and Kemil. Mark Junior was in it for all of two minutes. I've probably forgot some too.

As a producer i'd never insult viewers by recasting iconic characters so we have to play dumb to them not being the same person like with Michelle being back.

On the plus side as long as Tilly Keeper is in the show.........

Watch yourself mate as she's playing jailbait even if she's not actually jailbait

I agree it seems every time they get a new executive producer they feel the need to get rid of half the cast for no apparent reason, Stacey's brother/sister Kyle is one you missed off the list as is Danielle's brother Andy/Gareth.

Mark junior and Courtney would have been great for the new younger generation of Mitchell's, with Ronnie and Roxy brown bread and Phil too old and worn out to convincingly play the hard man anymore this is one family that needs rebuilding. It looks like Mark jnr may reappear though with Michelle back.

I would like to see them expand on the Hubbard clan as Vincent and Donna apparently have siblings coming out of their ears and Vincent needs better storylines, he's very much a background character these days and it's annoying how he's gone from new potential top villain looking to dethrone Phil Mitchell to Kim's whipped husband. Might be nice to see them build on Carmel, Kush and Shakkys family as well.

Tilly Keeper is 19 and you can't say her pictures aren't hot especially on the holiday sunlounger with her mates LOL Her character gets slagged off a fair bit online. The gripe being sometimes she's a whingy bitch like an 8 year old and other times a real mature grown up strong for her family like a middleaged woman so she's rarely if ever portrayed as the teenager she is.

Kyle was a dumb character to get shut of. You're making history being the first ever soap to legit have a sex change main character not like Hayley pretending for years in Coronation Street and they fucked it up.

Carmel is the new Peggy Mitchell. Bonnie Langford the legend that she is plays one of the best characters.

Ronnie and Roxy dying the way they did was silly. Drowning in an indoor pool Confused At least have Roxy as the cokehead she is want to swim in the lake outside and drown that way which would have been more believeable.

Yeah the death was dumb, as I said far-fetched, would have been far more believable to have Roxy overdose on coke or even if the pair of them had drunkenly fallen from the roof when they were larking about up there. But I guess it was written as a freak occurrence that could happen if very unlikely.

I agree that having a transgender actor made soap history and ticked a box but fact is Kyle was a pretty boring character.

Tilly Keeper is hot I've always thought that, just feels a bit wrong when she's playing a fifteen year old school girl

A few refreshing changes in Eastenders lately that have been long overdue.....

The launderette closed. It's always annoyed me that no one in Eastenders owns a washing machine and people treat the launderette like a local hang out where Dot would play agony aunt, not very realistic.

Several scenes outside the square shown. We saw the younger cast at school, Lee at his job and a few other scenes. It's annoying that they act like there isn't a world outside Albert Square, everyone works on the square, only ever look for work in the square, drink in the local, eat at the caf and do their weekly shop at the minute mart, again very unrealistic, would be nice to see a few more cast members who live off the square appear like they did with Sonia and Glenda in the past.

I'm wondering if Max somehow orchestrated the bus crash after it was revealed he wants to destroy the square.

Danny Mitchell is one of the worst actors since Nick Cotton, shame because he could have been a great character and a much needed younger addition to the Mitchell clan. Think most were glad to see him get pasted by Jack.

As you say it's very good to see more scenes from outside of the square for a change.

The bus crash was done pretty well and it looked realistic.

The boy bullying poor Lou Lou needs a battering LOL Bet he loves playing that character though and he got attacked slightly by Mick too for filming the crash aftermath.

Good to see the return of Bad Max going up the Shard (that sounds so wrong).

So another Christmas another death. I get that soaps are over the top dramatic to keep viewers interested but seriously look at the death toll for the Branning family over the past decade.

Billy Jackson
Bradley Branning
Jim Branning
Derek Branning
James Branning(cot death)
Ronnie Branning and her sister Roxy Mitchell
Abby Branning

Those are the ones I can remember I may have missed some. They could have had Abby survive and go and live with her Mum to write her out. The amount of deaths in the show is unnecessary and unrealistic.

The whole money storyline is boring. Mick to be leaving his pub to buy booze and then be ambushed into a van to be driven just around the corner, was stupid.

There is too little comedy in it at the moment. Karen is our only hope for a laugh.

Louise these past few months has been given too much time off. The eye candy needs a storyline.

Bit gutted about Vincent leaving, he came in as a dark mysterious character who had the potential to become the new top villain and knock Phil off his perch, but they quickly morphed him from a hard nut gangster into a cowardly hen pecked snitch and he quickly faded into the background and became less interesting. Shame because they could have rebuilt the character with some good storylines and I like Richard Blackwood but my gut feeling was always he would only be a short lived character as that just seems to be the norm in Eastenders now, they seem to give up on characters quickly or just like to shuffle the cast every couple of years or sooner.

Michelle was a absolutely pointless return, after decades away they tried to get Susan Tully back but she declined so they recast the character but all she’s done is have a horrible storyline where it was revealed she likes school boys and then she’s vanished right into the background to the point of where I forgot she was even there and now she’s off again after just one year, should have just left the character in the archives.

I'm upset about Vincent too. Him and Kym have great comedy timing. It was good to see a soap using a black couple for something not stereotypical.

Michelle was pointless. Saw someone online mentioned the new Michelle using the opposite hand to the old Michelle, so they have badly recast.

They say they have cast changes to freshen up, yet freshening up means bringing back loads of old characters.

Shakki gets stabbed to death which is something else morbid to look forward to.

The Shakki stabbing storyline is receiving high praise which it rightly should. The storyline was played out excellently, it was gritty, realistic(for once), well acted and tackled a very real issue in today’s society.

People are criticising the involvement of Mick Carter but I think it was good that they had a main character spot a wounded Shakki in the square only to dismiss him as being drunk, this made it all the more emotional knowing Shakki could have possibly been saved although I did find it a bit odd Shakki then staggered into the gardens and became hidden in the bushes rather than attempt to get to the nearest house.

When I first heard about this storyline my first reaction was yet another young character killed off its complete overkill and far fetched how many young people die in Albert Square, but this was so well done it was a good call by producers and was worth writing out Shakki to complete it as while he was likeable he was only really a background character and won’t be terribly missed.
