Charlie Slater leaving tonight was sad, despite his character rarely doing much.

Jodie/Poppy stuff is nice light relief comedy, and they look to be pisstaking out of The Only Way Is Essex.

Disapointed the baby snatching storyline is going to be ended early due to complaints from views. Producers shouldn't be such pussies.

Yeah a touching send-off. Its not like he'll really be missed though, his character had been reduced to a background role, almost as minor a part as the likes of Tracy in recent years.

Yeah that was funny, the 2 girls are definitely hamming it up with the Essex girl talk. Poppy is a fittie as well and I wouldnt mind her coming into the show fulltime.

It disappoints me more that there are such complete idiots out there that they are actually harrassing Samantha Womack in the street for her character's part in the storyline. She is just doing a job like anyone else and has no say or control over what happens on-screen. The people hassling her are clearly losers who are completely detatched from reality. All in all though Im not sorry to hear that the story wont be running longterm as it is pushing the boundaries of good taste.

It's disapointing on tuesday night so many scenes got cut and replaced at last minute with Jodie and Poppy chatting on for ages about nothing of note.

Scenes like Ronnie breaking down at the grave, Alfie helping Kat into the church, and Kat/Alfie carrying the baby coffin.

Months of emotional acting, long days, and lots of hard work now not to be seen as it's all cut because around 9K out of 10 million have moaned to Watchdog/Offcom.

Yeah those people need to get lives, while its true the storyline is pushing boundaries, surely people can separate fact from fiction. At the end of the day its a tv soap-opera that features far-fetched storylines more often than not, its not real-life, people should take everything they seen in Enders with a pinch of salt.

Im personally just not a big fan of storylines that revolve around babies, they are too common-place in Eastenders. I would much rather see further developments with Phil Mitchell now being ''the godfather of Walford'' and see his 2 runners Connor and Ryan as well as Jay and Ben get some meatier storylines based around Phil's shady dealings. Would also like to see more happen in the love/hate relationship between Max and Vanessa and Tanya and Greg, personally I think it will result in Max back in the sack with yummy Mummy Tanya.

I saw a picture today of Phil Mitchell having an heart attack in an arguement with Ian Beale, and Ian walking away.

Samantha Wommack got the big storyline to write her out in a big way.

Good to see Afia back last night as her and Tamwar make for some nice light hearted scenes.

Still think Samantha Womack quit due to the abuse she was receiving in the street from idiots who have no grasp on reality, as well as the fact she was apparently quite vocal about her dislike of the storyline while filming.

Phil is looking to become gangland kingpin of Walford, he even now has the traditional shady nightclub base.

'EastEnders' Max to return in huge Branning week

Published Thursday, Oct 27 2011, 00:01 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
EastEnders bosses have announced that the soap will air five nights in a row for one week only in late November as Max Branning makes his long-awaited return to Albert Square.

In a huge set of episodes for the Branning family airing from November 21, Max (Jake Wood) will finally arrive back in Walford - joined by his fearsome older brother Derek (Jamie Foreman).

EastEnders fans will remember that Max left the Square in August after his affair with ex-wife Tanya was exposed. The businessman had been left stunned when Tanya (Jo Joyner) unexpectedly told him that she didn't want to be with him.

Max was unaware that a health scare was the real reason for Tanya's sudden u-turn, and she has since been receiving treatment for cervical cancer.

Max's return is likely to cause a stir within the Branning clan, while the surprise appearance of Derek will shock the entire family, who haven't seen him for years.

Derek has a reputation for being a destructive and dangerous man due to his past, so viewers will have to wait and see whether he has changed and if the Brannings will welcome him back into the fold.

In a further twist, the big week will also see Tanya reveal a long-held family secret - which will shock her mum Cora (Ann Mitchell) and sister Rainie (Tanya Franks) to the core.

An EastEnders insider teased: "Branning Week will see secrets and lies exposed which will rock the family in a week Walford is sure to remember."

EastEnders' Branning Week begins on Monday, November 21 with four further episodes airing on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The previous week will only see three episodes air due to Children In Need being broadcast on Friday, November 18

Seems I misheard on the radio recently that Eastenders was going 5 nights a week permanently, the move is apparently a one-off deal. Cant say I'm sorry to hear that as every weekday would have have been overkill for the soap.

The introduction of Dereck Branning is interesting, he is being played by Jamie Foreman who is a legit Londoner and has appeared in British gangster flicks like Layer Cake.

Hopefully we will also see the return of Susie Branning who was a entertaining character and her stint in the show was all too brief.

I'm also glad it's only a one off, but usually when episodes/weeks are based around just one family/storyline it seems to drag.

Glad that Jake Wood is on his way back. It's alright when he can blag a three month break due to being such a good character that they wouldn't risk losing him permantly. No doubt he will have been on a few holidays and made the most of being able to see friends and family more often.

No mention of Lauren Branning having a storyline to herself. She's always a bit part in others. I'm surprised being a Branning she's not been made the focal point of a big story yet.

The Eastenders filming schedule is gruelling from what I understand, its partly why many actors dont stay in the soap for long as they cant handle the long, tiring hours that they have to put in. Ross Kemp for example can make more money for working a far more relaxed schedule doing various other shows.
This is why I dont think the soap will ever move permanently to 5 nights a week as it would add more hours onto the filming schedule.
Top names like Jake Wood, Scott Maslen, Steve McFadden, Shane Ritchie and Jessie Wallace are regularly written out of the show for periods of time to allow them a break.

I'm glad to see Jake Wood(Max Branning) return as well, hes one of the better characters and a strong actor. He reminds me of Dirty Den in his younger days.

That's it mate. You've mentioned the star names so if they say they want months off they get it or would walk.

Look at Samantha Wommack. Her storylines from the past few years were so grueling she's on her year out to chill with family.

Jo Joyner took extended leave for her twins, Patsy Palmer is still on leave until xmas time due to giving birth and Sid Owen wanted time off to I think do charity work in India or something so he's not coming back until around same time as Patsy.
