I would expect to see a title change as Vince is probably blaming Drew (wrongly) for the poor ratings.

Randy has been built up brilliantly and is arguably the best talent in the company during the no fans months, so a title run wouldn't not be deserved.

They can always have Drew regain it off him when fans returning so he does eventually get the moment he missed out on at Wrestlemania.

Mcintyre needs a big win, one that can mean his reign means something- i don't recall him defending against any one who youd class as a TOP WWE star - Orton is obviously right at the top of that list. Yes he has beat Rollins but this is a Rollins that is transitioning from top babyface to heel so I dont class him in the bracket , however I would have a year or 2 ago.

I expect Drew to retain here and I think he deserves to retain until we get fans back in arenas as he deserves that pop he will obviously get from the live crowds.

I posted this just now in the Summerslam thread.....

There are a couple of rumours doing the rounds saying that there are plans to put the title on Orton.

One rumour is that Vince is blaming the all time low ratings on Drew McIntyre as champion and wants to put the gold on established headliner Orton who he thinks will boost ratings as champion. I hope this is inaccurate as I think Drew has been great as champion, he's carried himself like a big star, has put on consistently good matches cut very good promos and has excelled in the difficult empty arena environment while others have struggled. Its clear that the fall in ratings is down to the Covid restrictions forcing empty arena shows which have not been well received in any sport, but wrestling in particular needs the live crowd atmosphere and I'm sure that is the reason viewers have been turning off.

Another rumour is that they want the belt on Orton to set up the rubber match between Randy and Edge with higher stakes when Edge is fit to return, and then Drew can regain the title at a later date in front of a crowd and finally get his big moment with fans cheering as he raises the title in the air.

I hope the second rumour is the right one, I would have no problem with that and Randy Orton is red hot at the moment doing the best work of his career so making him champion isn't a bad move by any stretch I just don't want Drew McIntyre to be made the fall guy for the poor ratings.

Vince tends to look for a scapegoat for falling ratings and Drew as the new champion is quite possibly the person who will get the blame, of course the Covid restrictions and lack of high calibre contenders for Drew's title have nothing to do with it, typical Vince logic Confused

Orton is on the hottest streak of his career and making him champion is something I'd like to see, but its more important to keep building Drew as the face of Raw and the top babyface of the company, Drew has all the tools to be the guy and he's proved that during this difficult time. He does needs some big wins over established stars and Orton is certainly that, so I would like to see Drew retain and while I do think Drew should have that big moment of raising the title in front of a arena full of fans I would prefer to see him have a long reign and maybe a returning Brock Lesnar gets his rematch and we see a full length match between Lesnar and McIntyre where Drew once again wins this time with fans in attendance.

What a great segment showing Orton to be innovative in his way of taking out four guys on his own.

Doing it in the dark with night vision goggles protects guys like Christian and Naitch who are in no fit condition to take bumps.

Drew next week now will be out for revenge after what happened to a group of guys he thinks very highly of.

To be honest, as well as it was done - this storyline is bordering on boring now - two PPV matches should be enough to rubber stamp the feud but it seems like continuing

I think most expected this to end with the ambulance match with Orton winning the title but obviously they decided to drag it out to Hell in a Cell for one more match, this surely has to be the final match in this series as the cell is traditionally the big feud ender.

Maybe they felt that if Orton wins at Hell in a Cell the two previous wins that Drew got over Randy keeps him strong if he loses to Randy at HIAC which surely has to be the result of the match.

It is getting boring now, I liked the fact that WWE had moved in the direction of one and done title matches it kept things fresh, three matches now feels like too much of the same thing even if they do try and spice it up with gimmick matches.

I would actually prefer this if they added Keith Lee making it a triple threat.

I am losing interest in it. It's gone on too long and should have ended by now.

It doesn't make sense that someone who keeps failing, keeps getting another chance to succeed.

HIAC has to be the end, so it's got to be another Mcintyre win or it will carry on with a rematch.

I think Orton is winning at Hell in a Cell unless this really is the coronation of McIntyre as the top guy in the company by giving him a decisive third win over Orton.

I do agree that this feud has run too long, I think these days a two match series is the longest a feud should run with consecutive matches otherwise fans lose interest and it feels like too much of the same thing.

The booking had been clever as the first win for Drew was booked to look lucky, the second he had a lot of help from Big Show, Christian and HBK, so Orton can argue that Drew has never scored that really clear cut and decisive win over him, so now they are taking it to the cell where there must be a clear winner.

I'm a bit torn on who wins, I'm leaning towards Randy as I think WWE want the title on him to raise the stakes when he resumes his feud with Edge, but also Drew has been great as the face of Raw and being champion has done much to establish him as a top guy so I could see WWE wanting to keep the belt on him.
