A judge here just all but completely shut down the travel ban that was supposed to go in effect at midnight tonight. Oh my god. And coincidentally, the Obamas are apparently here on the island.

Our tourism numbers might skyrocket thanks to this.

How's our Stateside TUPeeps seeing his leadership?

Peace prize for being a president who's actually spoke to North Korea?

Horrible man for splitting up families at the border?

That's how I see it. He's very polarising, but a lot of people are happy to find fault with everything he does, even though had Obama done it he would have been universally praised.

This with kids being seperated from their parents it's offensive that his actions are being called Nazi when they are nothing alike and the apple of his eye his daughter is married to a Jew.

Tough border control is excellent. Now illegals know that if they try their luck it's their fault if they get seperated from their kids. Those poor defenseless children being put in that situation is horrible.

Parents are there to protect their kids and show them right from wrong. Trying to get somewhere they aren't allowed isn't the way forward.

Talking to North Korea was a landmark moment which will turn out well hopefully.

Seems unemployment has gone down a lot since he's been in power too. Those that want to hate him no matter what put it down to plans Obama put into place.

It's rather shit that the same type of people who moan about public service funding cuts will next month chew into that budget by wasting their time protesting when he visits here.

I like him better than Obama, not that that is saying much. He's done a lot to help the economy, and I was absolutely against his pissing contests with Kim Jong Un, but as it turns out he apparently knew what he was doing. Now I'm willing to sit back and see what all this tarrif bickering leads to. As far the imigration crap is concerned, as long as we aren't executing them, then we are better than a lot of countries. Even so, this whole thing isnt new, either.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of Trump's treatment of "illegals" as they call them.

If you don't go tough though on illegal immigrants it will mean more giving it a go at trying to be where they aren't allowed to be.

I bet the number detained in the next month is lower and that will be because less stupid parents will be up for forcing their children into a situation like we saw last week.

I get they want a better life, but rules are made to be followed and it's not like Mexico is a war zone.

Gotta have laws to become a citizen legally. Laws need to be enforced. Sadly the previous administration didn’t see it that way. It’s all smoke and mirrors. It’s votes. Sure come to America , no problem , we will take care of you. Doesn’t matter how ya get there. It’s a liberal world where it’s ok to be and do anything. Laws are in place for a reason , course that’s as long as it doesn’t offend anyone.

Yeah see, I'm in favor of requiring proof of citizenship (such as a US birth certificate, or immigration papers) for voting, too.

On the other hand, if I lived in Mexico, was dirt poor, and had to deal with the cartels and their corrupt government, I'd do exactly what they've been doing as well. I'd sneak across the border, no questions asked, and I wouldn't apologize for it, especially considering we in the US give out free healthcare to the uninsured at the cost to the insured.

To me, this isn't even about the illegal immigrants, it's about the policies towards the treatment of illegal immigrants. Stop letting them vote, stop giving them free healthcare, and instead put them in camps, or whatever and force them to register as United States citizens, legally. Take their fingerprints, take a DNA sample, issue them a probational citizenship, and then say that all probational citizens must pay extra taxes for a period of 1-5 years to pay for a legit wall. After such time they become full-fledged citizens who can vote, get insurance, and get an above the table paycheck so they can work their way up.
