People already pay council tax for their plastic to be taken away, so I aren't sure how successful this would be.

For the sake of 22 pence per item, will people put all the plastic to one side and spend time in their day to take it somewhere for a refund? Just make companies change over to glass.

If they put a fiver on each item so like a 330ml can of pop could cost around six quid, I am sure people would be more willing to recycle so they got their fivers back.

Excellent use of English there Adders

They used to do this years and years ago with glass bottles of pop - you would get some money back when you returned your empty bottle to the shop

Exactly they make it sound like a new thing when it's something that happened as far back as the 1950s.

Good moneymaker for kids to raid bins and take a black sack to the countryside to top up their pocket money.

If I knew when it was coming in I'd do it now. Pepsi Max 500ml plastic bottle is 30 odd pence at Home Bargains. If you get 22 pence per item that's being talked about that makes it very cheap.
