Quote Dean Ambrose comes out first to kick off tonight's show with an in-ring interview. Ambrose talks about Braun, Drew and Dolph, and their comments last week about Seth and Roman being champions and Dean having nothing. Ambrose talks about the possibility of leaving The Shield, and how everyone is wondering when he's going to get fed up and snap. We see some footage of Ambrose standing with The Shield last week, and Ambrose talks about cleaning up Seth and Roman's messes. Ambrose says he's going to stand by his family, because The Shield is a brotherhood. Ambrose says The Shield will always ride in to battle together. Ambrose goes to head to the back, but Baron Corbin comes out to interrupt. Corbin says all he hears is a bunch of whining, and it sounds like something is bothering Dean. Ambrose says Corbin is just mad because he can't shut The Shield down. Corbin says he has three options for Ambrose tonight: 1. Face Rollins for the IC Title, 2. face Reigns for the Universal Title, or 3. face Braun Strowman in a singles match. Ambrose says he's not going to fall for Corbin's plan, and he wants an option #4: Ambrose vs. Corbin. Corbin says that's not an option, so he'll make the choice for him, and he's going to face Braun Strowman right now.

- Dean Ambrose vs. Braun Strowman: Strowman starts off strong and boots Ambrose down to start. Strowman whips Ambrose in to corner and and keeps him grounded now. Strowman picks up Dean and hits a version of a full nelson slam, then he taunts Ambrose and slaps him across the face. Braun hits a chokeslam and then stalks Dean in the corner. Ambrose thumbs Strowman in the eye and then dumps him out to ringside. Back in the ring, Strowman comes back with a clubbing blow to the chest of Ambrose that drops him. Strowman goes for a slam, but Ambrose escapes and hits a DDT. Ambrose takes things outside, but Strowman turns it around and drops Ambrose. Strowman looks for the finish on Ambrose, but then Roman Reigns' music hits and Reigns comes out to the ring. Reigns jumps in and attacks Braun. Seth Rollins runs in next to back up Reigns, and Braun retreats from the ring.

Winner via DQ: Braun Strowman

- As Braun retreats up the ramp, Dolph and Drew join him on the ramp. Seth and Roman help Ambrose to his feet. Corbin comes out and books Rollins vs. McIntyre, and also Reigns vs. Ziggler. Reigns vs. Ziggler is up next.

- Seth Rollins checks on Dean Ambrose backstage in the trainer's area. Ambrose makes a cryptic comment about how he could be the IC Champion right now, and walks off.

Why are they making him look dumb and stupid by turning down two title shots?

Because he's mates with Reigns and Rollins, they would have seen it as friendly competition had he accepted the chance.

Instead he loses a match because his buddies got involved when they had no right to.

Dean Ambrose played the heel to perfection. Not saying anything spoke volumes. Back when Rollins turned the crowds were really on his back but he fired back, not that it was wrong, he did great and had help from the Authority, but if Ambrose keeps quitemfor a bit and doesnt give a reason for some time he could get major great heat. The road to Wrestlemania has started.

Quote Dean Ambrose, a main event wrestler for WWE since debuting with The Shield in 2012, has given his notice to WWE that he will be finishing up when his current contract expires at the end of April, according to three PWTorch sources. He broke the news to management this weekend, including directly in a meeting with Vince McMahon, after being offered a new contract and a raise weeks ago.

He is expected to finish up shortly after WrestleMania, although it’s possible WWE would write him out of storylines sooner. This could explain why he was rather unceremoniously eliminated from the Royal Rumble on Sunday night and did a clean job to Seth Rollins on TV on Raw last night.

Sources tell PWTorch that Ambrose has been long frustrated with the creative direction of his character and reached a breaking point recently. He’s indicated to WWE management this weekend he’s not interested in negotiating further and made it clear this isn’t about trying to get more money. One of his colleagues on the roster, when asked tonight about Dean’s demeanor lately and if there were any signs of discontent, said “he’s pretty much impossible to read.” He added, though, that Dean “hates hokey sh–” and, since so much of his character has been portrayed as hokey in the last few years, he’s not surprised that would have built up frustration leading to a breaking point.

Top management in WWE and a small circle of friends of Dean knew about his decision this weekend, but it wasn’t well known at the Rumble or Raw among most of his colleagues

Wow. This one came completely out of left field and seeing how big of a name that is to be leaving, it is a genuine shock. Considering the circumstances, however, it isn't. I do wonder if they will put him in a WrestleMania match or they just keep him off the show and he just leaves when his contract goes up. I'm especially disappointed by this because now we won't get a Ambrose-Reigns feud which most certainly should happen based on Reigns' leukemia being used in the storylines.

I also think there is a bright side to this. Shield reunions have been done to death at this point and all this here happening guarantees there won't be any more of those and that faction can finally stay where it belongs which is in the past. Hopefully we don't lose Renee too, although I feel like we're gonna based off of this.

Not a shock at all for me. The only reason to stick around would be to see more of his beautiful wife because not being there he won't see her anywhere near as often, which could put a strain on the marriage.

Reasons it makes perfect sense......

1) If he goes to AEW they could build the company around him as the biggest guy in the company and their number 1 babyface due to being the biggest switch to that point.

2) He's always been seen by management as last place of importance from the Shield guys. He had a token title run but hasn't looked like getting another.

3) Can see him being unhappy with his character. Instead of being a Brian Pilman style nutjob and barely speaking, he's working in a PG envirornment and speaking far too much, usually shite and looks uncomfortable with it.

4) He doesn't need the wrestling business. I see him a lot like CM Punk or Brock Lesnar. Someone happy out of the spotlight, earn as much money as possible, do as little work as possible and get out. I don't see him enjoying working 300 days a year, doing media appearances and movies.

It makes sense when you think about it, but it's still a shock. I'm in the middle of watching Raw right now on Hulu, and seeing Ambrose about to cut a promo that's "real" and out of character and getting interrupted by Jax is pretty interesting.

Do we know this isnt a work?

This has shades of CM Punks walkout in it, though granted Ambrose isn't walking out but just deciding not to renew. The timing and the reasons though are pretty much identical.

If he does in fact leave you gotta think he is planning on going to AEW. And IF that is the case then he would be the first MAJOR player to jump ship.

I disagree with Adders though on one small point. I think if Ambrose goes to AEW he will be their prime heel, and not a face at all. He is a hardcore, gritty, ultraviolet wrestler ala Mick Foley and Vader and Raven. We haven't seen much of that from him in WWE but it's important to remember his combat zone wrestling roots.

I would assume we would see a return of Jon Moxley former CZW champion.

If he goes he goes honestly as good as he is I never viewed him as a massive main eventer more the upper mid card with the chance of maybe 1 or 2 title reigns.

He got plenty of good feuds won multiple titles I don't known exactly what he wanted with his character.

All the best to him if he ends up in AEW I just hope theres no backlash on his wife.

I cant say im shocked

By far the least interesting dude from the shield and its clear that WWE have never really had any plans for him

His work on the indies seemed good so perhaps a move to AEW where he could be more of himself would be better for his career and let WWE see what they are missing - no doubt theyd resign him in the future

I think it'd be great if Renee Young and Dean Ambrose went to AEW. Ambrose is a mega heel that has been held down for years now because WWE isn't just PG, it's evolved into PC, and while it might not be too hard to be PG, PC is crippling in wrestling.

I see Ambrose as a cross between heel Stone Cold circa 96 and 80s era Piper, with a bit of Cactus Jack thrown in. Letting him really be himself and not the over produced PC bad guy he is now would make a world of difference greater than that of Drew McIntyre before and after his first run in WWE.

Ambrose could be the biggest thing in wrestling nearing the level of Hollywood Hogan or the Macho King. We only got glimpses of Jon Moxley shortly after the Shield debuted and Ambrose was the front man of the group. He just needs to be set loose and then allow the world to see how far we can go with his heat.

Out of the blue but when you think about it not really that surprising.

Ambrose has been described away from the ring as a fairly shy guy who keeps to himself, perhaps he didn't like being in the public eye so much and being under pressure to do all the PR stuff. It's also possible he's just burned out from the road.

From what I know about Ambrose in his pre-WWE days he was far from PG so it's also possible he's frustrated with creative and feels he can only do his best work away from WWE.

It's a shame he won't now get a long heel run in WWE but I don't see this as a huge loss. I've never been a huge fan of Ambrose and did feel that his character was too restricted in the family friendly environment.
