Quote Chris Benoit’s son David has reportedly just started lifting weights and is training to become a professional wrestler. Word is that he’s done some working out with David Hart Smith, son of the late British Bulldog. Here is a recent photo of David and David:

Apparently Benoit has also kept in touch with Chris Jericho. Jericho revealed in his most recent book that David called him up after the murders and asked if he would still be able to attend wrestling events. Here is a photo of David at a SmackDown event, presumably from this year, and at another event with Jericho before Jericho’s most recent departure:

[

He definitely has his old mans looks, but he looks too slender, even if he is just starting out. Research says he is 20, so he is still very young. In 4/5 years could we really see another Benoit in the wrestling ring?

I don't know. I personally would love to see how he'd do, but at the same time I don't think the Wrestling World is ready for anybody with the last name Benoit to get into a wrestling ring.

Absolutely. As long as he has got the skills he should be fine. I don't buy that sins of the father crap. He could face some interest fan reactions though that might hold him back for a time. But at the end of the day it all matters about ability.

If he were to drop the Benoit name in ring then I don't think there would be too much backlash from him being a wrestler

David was something like 3 or 4 when his folks divorced. I've read conflicting reports on how much Chris Benoit actually interacted with the 2 children from his 1st marriage. So this might be something more like an attempt to connect with his father via learning what his father did professionally.

As far as David Benoit's physique goes... let's remember that his father did a lot of 'roids to pack on those muscles on his small frame. Right now, David would pass for any of a hundred indy wrestlers working in rented out high schools gyms across the country.

I think it goes without saying that he would never work professionally under the Benoit name. There's a better chance of him being billed as the son of Chris Jericho. Sadly, I think that even if David Benoit were to turn out to be the next Shawn Michaels, Vince McMahon would never, ever consider signing him.

It's a long shot but who knows. Of course, if he stays away from the Benoit name and work under a new one, his chances are better. But still, the ominous heinous acts of his father will always be around him in the wrestling circle, especially in WWE, so who knows how good his chances really are. If he can make it, good for him.

He looks creepy as fuck, and has the heritage of a child murderer, the only fed that will go near him is some publicity hungry indy like Ian Rotten's.

Plus, smark crowds will either eat him alive or sickeningly cheer for his dad.

This is all presuming he's even good, which is yet to be seen.

I didn,t know  that Benoit had children from previous marriage.

It,s not poor kid,s fault what his father did.

I wish him well, but it would be hard to wrestle under his real name.

I suggest him to work under hood as Pegasus Jr.
Still real to me dammit !

Quote From Jim Ross Website

As for Chris's son wanting to get in the pro wrestling business, I have mixed emotions. My gut says stay away, learn a trade, get educated and lead a normal, productive life. One the other hand, I'm not big on telling anyone to not attempt to live their dreams just as I did. I'm just happy that I've got no horse in that race. If you are a wannabe wrestler and you go to any wrestling school and you are taught or encouraged to deliver as many clotheslines as you want, then you are likely getting sub par training. If you are not taught the difference in "grabbing a hold" and "applying a hold" then you are likely getting sub par training. If your instructors, coaches, mentors, etc don't discuss with you the importance of filing your quarterly taxes, then they are idiots and you are naive for ignoring the reality of being an independent contractor.

I don't see any major wrestling company like WWE or TNA ever going anywhere near him simply because of who his dad is.

The editing department would have to work overtime just to take out the chants he would get and they couldn't avoid them on a live show.

I agree with JR that he should learn a trade. With a dad like that why would you ever want to be in the spotlight in the business he once worked!!!
