i think barneveld winning 8-1 on his pdc debut in the premier league darts was an awesome performance. but the greatest ever phil taylor beating the phony worlds number one colin lloyd 8-1 was even better. there is going to be some battles in the coming months in the holsten premier league. i would expect the semis to have in them taylor, barneveld, lloyd and scholton.

Cant wait for Barney v Taylor, their both playing at their best so far and we'll see just how good Barney is against the worlds best.  Looks like he isnt gonna have a problem against the other players and I think it'll be those 2 in the final.

i think even none darts fans should watch the video of barney versus baxter in the link. barney won again last night and so did phil taylor. when these two meet in 3 weeks it will be a blinding contest. baxter did great last night to beat colin lloyd. colin isnt at his best and will struggle at this rate to stay the worlds number one.

What a let down Taylor-Barney turned out to be.  Obvious that both players were nervous cos they were both well below their best, especially considering how well Barney played against Manley earlier and getting the 9 dart finish.  When Taylor got to 7-4 he thought the hard work was done and he was laughing and joking with the crowd.  It didn't surprise me that he threw it away.

let down ?  about time some matches were close for a change instead of easy victories. afterall these are meant to be close matches as the players are all of similar ability. barney getting a 9 darter was surprising. his 4th tv match and his first 9 darter. taylor as only had 3 and hes had hundreds of tv matches. not like phil to throw away a lead like that.

Woooooo the fa cup of darts starts tonight. The UK Open from Reebok stadium. I love this event because its 128 darts players over only three days. Love the concept of 8 boards around the same room on the first day so you have to contended with alot of noise. Just like fa cup the best come in at round 3 and with it not being a seeded event it means the very best can face eachother early which is good. The way Phil Taylor dismantled the best in the Premier League was scary. Anyone would be stupid to bet against him. I would like to see John Part competing at the top of his game again.

What a story that is. One of the greatest ever going out on tv in the first round to a 17 yearold nobody as ever heard of. That is why i like the PDC best because so many top players are showing promise from a very early age to challenge the best. Barney needs to knuckle down now and make sure he makes it into the Grand Prix for next month. It would be unthinkable of a player of his class to miss two TV major events in a row after missing the matchplay in Blackpool.

Well i thought i'd add to this after a chat with Admin the other day.
As well as being a full time office bod, part time barman, part time DJ, trainee wrestler and all round love machine i play darts on a thursday and Sunday night. Its a quality sport for people who arent good at any others basically. lol.
Anyway i enjoy playing the game ansd watching it on TV. And even though people dont realise there is top contention for this to one day become an Olympic sport. Its also one of the top rising sports in the world along with something i wouldnt class as a sport in Poker.
Anyway I play at an average of 80-85 at the moment over 3 darts. My finishing still needs minor adjustments but Admin suggested that i go county and maybe pro with an average like that. Its a big task to really break through in the sport. Im very interested in doing it but though i'd ask what you guys think.
So testosterone boys, and harelequin girls.

Will you dance to this beat and hold a lover close.

Thats a pretty good average Hartstoppa and I'd reckon that players that go out in the early rounds of the televised events would only average something similar.  The main thing you need to succeed in darts is dedication and concentration.  If you can get in plenty of practice and can hold your nerve in competition then given time I reckon you could make the professional circuit.  Its one of the few sports where I dont think you need natural ability, you just need to keep practicing.

Hartstoppa mate. How would your one average look against these.....

BDO is well fucked up when it comes to darts. A 17 yearold (who beat Barney other month) wins the event. Where is Ritchie Davies ? Where is the world champion ? I will tell you how fucked up the world championship draw is. BDO only ever have 8 seeds for the world championship. They put it up to 16 for first time ever to make the champion seeded. However the champion is still not seeded. I guess he's not come on since last year lol. I think he is up against Martin Adams in the 2nd round if they both get through as well. Dunno why BDO champions simply never seem to do anything after winning it.
