I will never understand why people make suggestions like this, the names you all mention with the maybe exception of Balor are headliners. Why would WWE relegate all their top talent to a show hardly anyone watches??

205 Live can be improved sure but the idea should be to build a solid cult following not try and compete with the mainstream popularity of Raw and Smackdown.

My suggestion also entails seeing those guys as a part of the cruiserweight division main event PPVs. MMA will headline their PPVs with a guy that weighs 155 lbs. (Connor McGregor) so why can't the WWE run a main event for one of their PPVs with Bryan vs Balor for the Cruiserweight championship if it's legitimately the hottest feud going?

THAT is how you elevate the division. Treat wrestling like a sport again and then make the divisions compete against each other for the main event spot at the PPV.

This is the exact same argument as with the women's division, or the tag division, or even the Intercontinental or US Heavyweight championship. If it's the best feud going, let it main event. Sometimes the heavyweight division is NOT the most interesting thing on the card. It shouldn't be given the main event spot if it's literally not the MAIN event of the show. If people are buying tickets to see the show because of the women's match, it should be the last match of the night. If people are buying tickets to see the show because of the cruiserweight championship, then THAT should be the last match of the night.

Freeweight waters down the product as much as breaking kayfabe. It's still a form of not protecting the business, and just because everyone knows it's a scripted product doesn't mean you can break character. If you're acting and you break the script you're in serious trouble, but in wrestling they get sloppy and let it happen as a part of the script. And even if you're sitting there reading this and thinking "This is sports entertainment, not wrestling" then it applies EVEN MORE. Sports entertainment implies that you're out to put on a show and give the people what they want. Well this particular form of sports entertainment revolves around a fictional sport called pro-wrestling. That's bedrock axiomatic fact. If they water this down, and neglect to take into account their world revolves around this "sport" and don't take that seriously, then no one else will either.

They need to go back to enforcing a very well defined set of rules, which include time-limits for a match, and weight classes for divisions, and they need to do it NOW. The sooner the better.

Bryan is a cruiserweight, so is AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, and Finn Balor, that's a group around which you could make the division really mean something, and if, like this PPV cycle where it's the second best thing next to the women's TLC triple threat, then that's where that match should be. It's ridiculous thinking that Bryan vs Styles for the heavyweight championship makes sense. Not it's spot on the card that doesn't make sense. Bryan vs Styles should come second to last for the cruiserweight championship, and no one will care that it's not for the heavyweight championship, because the cruiserweight title is obviously being treated with exactly the amount of respect it has earned, just like the women's title that should main event.

I guess this is a case of each to their own, my opinion is WWE is no longer the land of the giants, 30 years ago guys the size of Braun Strowman were the norm, now he looks huge and freakishly large, even guys like Reigns and Lesnar who in 1990 would have been average size now dwarf most of the roster.

Anyway the point I'm making is 200lbs is now normal and acceptable for the size of a top talent, in my view there is no real need for a Cruiserweight division, if they want to have it then set the weight limit at 175lbs and let the really small high flyers make the division but like I said the division is never going to headline events, at best it can achieve a more hardcore wrestling fan based loyal following similar to NXT.

I have zero interest in 205 because from what I've seen these guys offer nothing that I can't see on the main roster, the matches are just a slightly quicker paced more high spot based version of the standard WWE formula, it's not like what we saw in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament. WWE are slowly starting to migrate the Cruiserweights they see potential in to main roster roles, guys like Drake Maverick and Lio Rush. In honesty I don't think 205 Live will exist in a years time.

Don't like the idea of him physically getting involved with the fans, even though we know they are crowd plants. In the real world he'd be getting a lawsuit and gang attacked by the E universe.

The rest of it was great though. Especially angrily calling fans impotent, which is even better than him calling them fickle.

Loved that one fan chatted back to him and told him he's not impotent LOL
