Quote Tom Phillips informs us that Daniel Bryan is unable to perform due to not being cleared by doctors out of fear of a chest infection. We see video of Bryan at the Greatest Royal Rumble and his cut open chest from strikes by Roderick Strong.

The video of him talking in Jeddah showed just how brutal the punishment he took was.

His chest looks super sore and considering it's in the area of your heart, you have to be careful.

I wouldn't be surprised if his match this sunday was postponed or kept to less than ten minutes, maybe closer to five.

Daniel Bryan, well it's great to have him back but to me it seems his popularity is no where near it was when he was battling with The Authority and his quest for what was the WWE World Heavyweight Championship (now just WWE Championship). Still very well liked but doesn't seem to get that really big pop. Gone too long maybe that the fire is gone for the fans and they have moved on. Sad, he's a good guy but we are a society of now he's big time A list may have moved on.

I think it's there, it's just that he's not in a main event role yet. I think once he starts chasing the WWE championship again, if Shane can hold him back some, not in a rehashed kind of Stephanie/Triple H kind of way, but in a "I'm worried about your health" kind of way, then we will see the fans get behind him as he continues to take a beating and get back up. Then once he challenges whoever, AJ Styles, or Nakamura, or The Miz, or someone else, the fans will get much more excited for him.

Right now he's just languishing in mid-card when all the fans want to see him in the main event again. WWE will need to show him making progress towards becoming WWE Champion. Give him some hurdles, and let him jump them. Tell him on TV in front of the fans, that they don't want to put him in harms way too soon, so lets try seeing how he does at *this* then if everything is ok, maybe you can try a number 1 contenders match of some kind. Just something so that the fans can mark his progress.

I wouldn't worry about his popularity though. It probably WON'T be as big as it was before, but he'll bring a big section of the crowd to their feet when they get to see him in the main event again.

Bryan needs to get beat up for a while so that the fans really rally behind him again. He can only play an underdog and if he's straight to the top or winning all the time then he's not going to connect with anyone.
