The route for the first ever 3 day Tour De Yorkshire that starts on friday 1st of May has been announced.....

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/jan/21/tour-de-yorkshire-route-details-announced-bridlington-leeds-bradley-wiggins

Just about all of our wonderful county (including lots of places that weren't part of Le Grand Depart) will see some action.

Wouldn't mind being in Scarborough to see the end of the first day finish on their seafront......

Little tours like this are a great spectacle for the local community. Any big names doing this one Adders?

They hope for a few good names like Bradley Wiggins will hopefully be doing it with his own team.

By starting on a working day of friday it means that instead of three busy days places get four with monday being a bank holiday (so people will be out and about anyway so no need for the race to finish that day).

It makes sense for the biggest county to have something like this. There are enough places to visit for sure.

Tour De France 2017 starts in a few days time and the regular GC guys are favourites. Gutted Tom Dumoulin isn't racing after winning the Giro Ouch

Froome is the favourite but not by much. The layout isn't suited for Quintana so expect it to be between Froome, Porte and possibly Aru.

Superb riding from Welshman Geraint Thomas today. Took a time trial stage by storm and beat favourite Tony Martin too.

Chris Froome also put silly time like 30 seconds on his GC rivals on the first stage as Team Sky were dominant.

It sad news, Alejandro Valverde took a nasty crash and is out of the tour. The really weakens Movistar and hits Quintana's chances of winning the tour.

G Thomas still in yellow, Froome is nicely placed in 2nd....and Sagan has been DQ'ed for elbowing Cav and causing a crash LOL

First mountain test tomorrow so I expect Thomas will loose yellow, probably to Froome, unless Sky keep protecting Thomas, even though Froome is their #1 for this Tour.

Froome has lost yellow to Aru, Bardet is close too and it's Bastille Day tomorrow so he's going to attack and attack hard. This race is going to finish pretty close.
