another possible reason why he's not in the main event picture right now:

Source: FSM, issue 048, pg 006-007:

"the truth is, though, that backstage politics may well have been at work here.  Rumour has it that 'locker room leader' The Undertaker chastised CM Punk on the road recently for a dress code violation.  Punk's reported responce, whether justified or not, was to point out that Raw's champion, John Cena, got to wear whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.  The word on the street is that this responce was taken as something of a besmirching by Undertaker, who reported the move back to Vince, which resulted in Punk ultimately losing the strap."

the article was about Taker's latest Title run. i did have a quick look to see if there was a Punk Taker thread, but could not find it, though i am sure there was one when i first joined.  if this is already in that thread from any other source, can i ask that admin delete this post, or someone pm me and i'll do it myself, as long as there have been no replies on this thread.

I wonder if Punk is trying to form a stable ?

I really don't think wins & losses count as much as they used to.

I never knew that WWE had a dress code ?

I feel it's more about making an impact, but I guess Punk is letting Festus aka Gallows show his power & destruction for now.

I couldn't enjoy his match with Kane because I couldn't buy into Kane beating him.

Punk looked stupid in the Mexican mask and not seeing him bald makes a mockery of the gimmick of the match he had.

People paid on PPV to see Punk bald and those people have a right to feel pissed they haven't.

I couldn't agree more - Punk looked like a total idiot in that dumb mask and I imagine a lot of fans were pissed by not being able to see him bald. Here's hoping they realise this is a stupid move and have him come out bald (oh wait...this is WWE we're talking about so scratch that!)

I couldn't disagree with either of you more, firstly yes Punk did look silly in the mask, but he's a heel so a heel looking silly doesn't matter.  Plus don't you think it was a great way to piss off the crowd by building up to the moment where he uncovered his head, only to denay them their laugh at his expense?  It was like having the rug pulled out from under them, a great heel moment.

And Admin your wrong about Punk against Kane it was a very solid match, the mat wrestling and steigy of Punk against the bigger man was believable, and the near falls were tight.  Credit to Kane for letting Punk have as much of the match as he did.  I doubt his on screen brother would have been so kind.
Lifes what you make it.

I choose to out think people, who are too dumb and pick on the rich.

Punk hid his bald head because he is a heel, the head getting shaved was the payoff to an angle, and Punk not carrying through with his end of the deal by showing his bald head is a classic heel move.

Punk/Kane was horrible though. No shock really, considering how sloppy both can be.

Punk SERIOUSLY fucked up the GTS in this match. According to some reports it took him two attempts to actually pull it off, and that was the end result Dead.

He fucked it up last time he and Kane fought on Smackdown as well, you'd think Creative would've learned. What's wrong with the Anaconda Vice if he's taking on a bigger guy?

Punk obviosbly can't pick a guy around the 300 pound mark so he should be doing something else instead, but I don't want to see Kane tap either and excuse me but Taker vs Punk Punk has gotten a shit load of offence in their matches and even hit his finisher.

Taker may not lose too much but then that is his character he can't he is not incharge of who wins the match and who doesn't and its something that Kane should look into he can win and still make his opponent look good in the process.

Every guy even the jobbers look good against Taker even Khali looked better in a match with Taker then he would with someone like HHH and also Takers aren't shorter than about 6 minutes plenty of a time for a good telivision match.

You do have a fair point, Kane tapping would be stupid. BRING BACK THE PEPSI PLUNGE!!!!!

I think it's a bit late for Kane now, if he starts picking up wins against upper-midcard guys on a regular basis, it'll look bad simply because all of the upper-midcard guys have beaten him several times before.
