I can't see AJ being out til SummerSlam. MITB at the longest. AJ is still the most over Diva they have at the moment. And in 2 months, the new episodes of Total Divas should run out - so any Divas (like Summer Rae) that are getting attention to hype that show will slip back into the background.

When Punk does return I hope he returns as a Heel....When he was a paul Heyman guy was when he was most entertaining, Not saying he should come back as a PHG but a heel Punk, man I'd love to see him in that role again.

I liked Punk better as well... tweaner I guess really. When right after he did his pipebomb promo he was a heel, but when he returned he was a face in the Steve Austin, anti-authority role (kinda like Daniel Bryan today). That was when he was calling people out backstage, making people look like idiots for what they believed about how wrestling was supposed to be handled, and of course the infamous ice-cream bars. That was the Punk I liked. Paul Heyman guy Punk was a disappointment to me. The latest incarnation of face Punk that did nothing except feud with Paul Heyman, that was a letdown too. But the guy that everyone listened to because they wanted to know what he'd say next and most importantly, no one knew what he was going to say next? That was where Punk was best IMO.

Hope this hasn't been posted already. I'm just seeing this for the first time, and so I thought I'd share in case anyone else hadn't seen it yet.

Really kinda solidifies a lot of the beliefs that he was just burned out and needed a break. Vince called it a sabbatical, and maybe that really is all it comes down to.

It was obviously a case of burn-out, think the news that he wouldn't be main-eventing Wrestlemania was just the tip of the iceberg that pushed him over the edge.

I think he will take as long as year out, maybe more, he's got enough money put aside to take a lengthy breather from wrestling and if he's smart he also knows that his earning potential in WWE is at its peak and the longer he's away will have his fans wanting him to return even more which increases his value to WWE.

I expect him to return in time for Wrestlemania 31 but not much before.

Well, with AJ being out too, Mr. Brooks and as-far-as-I-know-soon-to-be-Mrs. Brooks will probably take turns in taking bumps in the bedroom too....

Quote WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast where he spoke about how WWE should bring back CM Punk. Here is what JR had to say about the former WWE Champion:

“I would try to figure out a way if there’s one more run in CM Punk. And ‘one more run’ to me means this: a WrestleMania, not 10, not two, not three, a WrestleMania. Start with let’s build to the right build and the crescendo is WrestleMania. And the only other way I’d do him is have him return at WrestleMania and not be on television. Sign, train, vignettes, vignettes, little angle, boom. His first match is WrestleMania. Yeah, that way there’s no pressure on anybody.”

Even with a Brock Lesnar style schedule (as in the one he had when he first returned) I doubt he would think about accepting.

I reckon if he was to come back it will be when his money dries up in five years or so for a HOF induction, DVD of his career to milk and maybe one retirement match.

If he was a surprise Rumble entry someone would get great heat for eliminating him.

As far as I am concerned CM Punk can stay in the shadows where he belongs and if he comes back I hope they job the shit out of him.

I understand wanting the main event of WrestleMania everyone wants that but let's face facts WrestleMania 28 nothing was going after Rock vs Cena the entire PPV was built around that match and it was a great match, even if Punk and Jericho put on a 10 star match it still would've been shat on and the crowd would've been dead because they would have used up all their energy on the Rock vs Cena match, I should know I was there and they were loud a lot louder then you would hear on the dvd.

He had his chance if he just held in there a little longer he could've been in the position that Daniel Brian was put in and won the WWE title or maybe not who knows, walking out that way to me is just having a bad attitude.

In saying that WWE firing him on the day of his wedding was bullshit as well and they would've had to have known that was a thing so them doing that sucked.

WWE will survive without Punk and Punk well Punk could probably get squashed in one more UFC fight before heading off into the shadows never to be heard from again.

It's perfectly legitimate what he did, IF in fact he had fulfilled all his contracted dates. Last I heard, that was still being debated as to whether or not he had fulfilled those contractual obligations. Regardless he has every reason in the world to be disgruntled and upset the way things went down.

IMO the whole thing just stinks of bad communication between Punk, Mark Carano, HHH, & Vince. My hunch is that this could have been solved much more easily and much sooner had Punk not had middle management acting as a liaison and he just worked with Vince directly.

Problem is, I don't know all the facts, and I doubt anybody outside of those specifically involved does either. So without it, it's just all speculation. That being the case, any concrete judgement is nothing more than prejudice.

Quote In saying that WWE firing him on the day of his wedding was bullshit as well and they would've had to have known that was a thing so them doing that sucked.

Word has it that THAT unfortunate incident was nothing more than a bad coincidence, and it was most certainly not done on purpose.

And I think Phil Brooks WANTS to return to the shadows and never be BOTHERED again.

I think it's really sad that he's been soured on the pro-wrestling business, because he was great, and he spoke to the hardcore fans in a way that no one else has.

I think in time he’ll maybe do a Goldberg type return to round off his in-ring career the right way rather than being the guy who threw a hissy fit about not being in the Wrestlemania main event and stormed off home and was then later fired. It was harsh to sack him on his wedding day but then again he took his ball and went home like a child breaching his contract and messing up storylines, and as I’ve always said he had very little to complain about, he’d been booked as a top star for ages, had wrestled the likes of The Rock, Lesnar and The Undertaker, just because he never got to be in the match that closed Wrestlemania he cried like a little bitch.

Punk needs to grow up and realise WWE is not ROH. He became a rich man and a household name thanks to WWE.
