Chavo Guerrero To Be Major Player In TNA?

I mean no disrespect toward Chavo for the following opinion, but it's hard not to say something about TNA's extreme promotion and hype this past week for the former WWE superstar.

Is he talented? Absolutely. Is he valuable to a major fed like WWE or TNA? Of course. But is he the next guy you want to build your main event around? I don't think so.

This is a case where both TNA and Chavo need to play the cards they've been dealt. There's no bluffing in pro wrestling.

Chavo, at no fault of his own necessarily, spent too much time in Eddie's shadow. Vickie even came along and was given more support by Vince and WWE than Chavo.

Always the bride's maid, never the bride.

It might not have been fair, but it's the truth. And I don't blame Chavo for wanting to leave. But now, TNA is going to take that guy and attempt to make him a viable champion? Or champion contender, even? I don't see it.

If they couldn't do it with Angle, Anderson, Hardy, Lashley, etc...I'm willing to bet Chavo isn't the answer either.

Put that much incredible promotion and major hype into other talent and projects. You're better off and the chances that it might pay off are much higher.

dude, you need to pay more attention where you're posting.

firstly, this is a WWE thread, not the TNA one, secondly, there is already a thread for Chavo in the TNA thread.

one of the admins will either move this, or delete and tell you the same.

How exactly did TNA fail with Angle? They have got a huge amount of exposure/development out of Angle and on top of that he has consistently pulled out great matches since joining the company in 2006.

I'm not sure what you were expecting out of Angle but expecting him to recapture his performances from the early 2000s is pretty unrealistic.

They have booked Anderson fine (besides the time he joined Immortal during the Sting feud). If they didn't pick up Anderson after he was released from WWE, TNA would be getting ridiculed TO THIS DAY that they didn't sign him.

Hardy is TNA's best signing since Kurt Angle. He brings in die hard and semi pro wrestling fans alike. There has been a few hiccups but unless Jeff goes of the rails he will be their most important talent in the years to come.

Lashley isn't a success or a fail. The way all that went down you can disregard it even happening. TNA didn't have the opportunity to succeed or fail with him.

Like I said I'm not sure what you were expecting TNA to do. Did you want them to job their originals endlessly to these guys? Should of the originals remained in the X division/ tag team division and only have ex WWE guys in the main event?

TNA have problems but the way they have pushed Angle, Hardy and Anderson isn't it.

Wait a minute they failed with Angle, Anderson and Hardy. How?

does you mean that the 7 time TNA World Champion Kurt Angle (I dont have the exact number for him but its like 7), 2 time World Champion Mr. Anderson and a cog on TNA TV for 2 years and Jeff Hardy who is a 2 time World Champion, had one hell of a heel run and is currently rebuilding his image in fabulous fashion on TNA TV isnt enough. Oh and they have had a number of stellar matches during their time in TNA.

I wish TNA fails like that with all its acquisitions.

As for Lashley he quit TNA and now is begging for a job in the company again.

Dude what are you smoking if you think that TNA is pushing Chavo straight to the main event. They pushed him straight into a midcard feud.

Yes, but traditionally this place has had one thread for news and rumors on such and such going to a fed; and then another thread on that person for his or her actual performance and spot in that fed once he is confirmed to be there. So, not to slight JTB's thread (which was a poll anyway), but I will keep this open as the official "Chavo Guerrero Jr. In TNA" thread.

It does, however, have to be in the right section. So, I moved it to the TNA section. Sinkyboy11, welcome to the forum; but please create threads in their proper section. Thank you.

And as far as Angle and the others in TNA goes, Willy is right.

Forst off, sinkyboy, welcome aboard TUP. Hope you have fun.

Now, the topic at hand. I get where you're coming from, but at the same time I think you might be reaching on a couple things. Chavo did get a lot of hype and praise heading into his debut, but I'm not seeing a main event push for him. He's been put into a program with three lower-midcarders who a lot of people probably forgot still work in TNA. In fact, I actually like this. Propping up a guy so much just to be a part of a lower midcard tag team feud is a nice way of making it feel like even that part of the program is worthwhile.

1/ He hasn't been signed to be a main eventer
2/ He hasn't been billed as a main eventer
3/ They haven't gave any indication at all he's going to be a major player in the company
4/ They don't expect him to have any impact because he isn't a star like those names mentioned
5/ You are a f.aggot.

I know that tag team wrestling in TNA is taken a lot more serious than in WWE; but I'm gonna go that route that I'm not happy that Chavo is "stuck" in a tag team. Chavo is an amazing wrestler (yes I said that.) He has skill, agility, areal ability, and speed. He was never used to his fullest in WWE and halfway was in WCW. But he seems like a perfect match for TNA and its X Division.

TNA is a place where (most of the time) a wrestler's talent is used. I never saw much in Hernandez and I believe he is holding Chavo down. I would much rather see Chavo challenge Zema Ion.

to be honest, i don't think Chavo is pushing for a major singles title.

from what i understand, he felt disrespected in WWE, which is fair enough when Rey was constantly being pushed as the legacy of Eddie, while his nephew is ignore, made heel and only allowed to associate with Eddie's memory by facing Rey or being bossed about by Vicki.

i'd rather Chavo stay as a tag team worker, hold that title, and bring some shine to it rather than be another old guy winning the TNA Heavyweight title.
