Wow, what a surprise. Charlotte is already #1 contender to the women's championship. I guess she will be right back on her ppv winning streak in no time.

On the other hand, there are some hints she may be starting a face turn. Not sure that's gonna be a good thing or not, but whatever.

Quote According to multiple sources, Charlotte Flair was pulled from last night's WWE Mixed Match Challenge due to the fact that she underwent dental surgery last week to treat an infection and isn't medically cleared to wrestle.

-- WWE pulled her for all the weekend house shows and as seen, she also missed Smackdown as her scheduled match against Natalya was pulled even though WWE was advertising it as late as this morning. Charlotte was backstage though and the "minor" dental surgery is not expected to impact her match at WrestleMania against Asuka in any way.

Her dad used to lose a shitload of blood in his matches and she's not medically cleared because of the dentist. How times have changed LOL

I don't know why she couldn't at least cut a promo to make her being there but not seen, less pointless.

The timing of it could have been better, but at least she won't be missing Wrestlemania.

To be honest, i thought it would be the other way around.

I thought theyd keep her from talking whilst whatever it is she has had done healed bit she could still wrestle - its not as if shed take huge bumps to the face

Not only have Charlottes tits burst but she has also lost a tooth or multiple teeth at a Live event.

She refused to take photos with a fan claiming she had lost her teeth

Shes not having the best of times

She didn't refuse, she covered her mouth, but yeah, apparently she is about to be written off smackdown for a short time to get her shit taken care of.

Hey I'm all for Asuka vs Becky. I think there's a lot to work with there, and it definitely gives them both something good to do, it's a feud I think a lot of fans would enjoy, and it also explains the nice clean win by Becky over Charlotte this last week.

Sounds good to me. I hope it pans out.

OK, so... Let's assume this IS what happens. That means Charlotte is being left out in the lurch for a while doesn't it? Does this mean that Charlotte is going to go into jobbing mode for a while, kind of like Sasha Banks has been doing?

I mean, in Sasha Banks' case I would say it is getting close to time for her to move back into the main event picture if only as a challenger, not as a title holder, say once Rousey presumably takes the title from Jax.

In Charlotte's case though, it would be a bit surprising that after having been the "face of the division" for so long (WWE's words) that she would finally take a backseat after getting one of the biggest wins of her career at WrestleMania vs Asuka.

I suppose she'll have some kind of 'cooldown' feud where she won't be in the title picture but she'll still get the win probably against the Iiconics if not a post-title feud with Carmella as well, but after that the typical route is for the former title holder to job for a good year or so before either leaving the WWE altogether or moving back up the card.

I mentioned in the other thread that Smackdown is again in their post mania "push the lower women" phase. Usually by Summerslam they come out of it. Meanwhile on Raw, as you say, Alexa Bliss dominated and left Sasha Banks and Bayley floundering for basically the whole year.

You're right that it would mean Charlotte is adrift, but not for long. There's some depth in the division now, and less PPVs to fill, so feuds will be spread out over a longer period of time. We could have Charlotte vs Asuka 2 with no title. We could have Charlotte and Becky vs The Iiconics and then we could have a Charlotte heel turn (I expect her to turn heel before facing Rousey anyway) on Becky.

Essentially, Charlotte picks up win after win without being particularly near the title, having lost the chance at a title shot in a triple threat when Asuka pins Lynch or something similar. Then, she's simply too big for Smackdown.

That's not for definite how I see it going, but it is how I'd like to see it play out. Becky Lynch hasn't been near the title since February 2017, over a full year ago and yet she's been able to remain relevant and ready for the switch to be pushed at a moments notice. It can be done. Let's also not forget that a year is a long time and I expect Nikki Cross to be joining Smackdown not long after MitB.
