ARLINGTON, Va. — U.S. national soccer team forward Charlie Davies had several broken bones and a lacerated bladder after a one-vehicle accident Tuesday in which another person was killed.

Davies underwent several hours of surgery at Washington Hospital Center Medstar, where he was listed in serious but stable condition. The injuries make it unlikely Davis will play in next year's World Cup.

The tibia and femur in Davies' right leg were broken. He also suffered facial fractures and a fracture in his left elbow in the accident, which took place at about 3:15 a.m. in the suburbs of the nation's capital.

Davies will be hospitalized for at least a week and additional operations will be required to stabilize his broken elbow and possibly the facial fractures.

For more on the story and team mate reactions here is the article link.

  1. From what I heard he is one of the better and faster players on the team.
  2. Lacerated bladder sounds sick.
  3. R.I.P to the person who died. Just looking at the picture you can tell it was a REALLY bad crash.

FYI, I have no clue why the text is coming out like this. Sorry.

I heard he was a pretty handy player, and Villa and Cardiff were after him in the summer, so best of luck to him in recovery. By the looks of what remains of the car, Id say he was very lucky to be alive.
